Does anyone know anything about these? Looks like the ultimate Q-car.

Do these have the usual chocolate Volvo Autos?

That's pretty rare with the 5.5L lump. Nice.

With the LS430 away to its new (fellow threadist!) home.

It’s Sunday morning, I’m on a random train to nowhere.

Can only mean one thing, new barge day!

Anyone else on a trip today?

A few Sunday perusals...

A 750 Sport at £3290 - this seems, to me, an insane amount of car for a few grand... I'm imagining idiotic running costs?

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Nearly three grand over budget, but, quite honestly, where the hell else would I put it to be enjoyed?

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Appealing as a large, comfortable (and unbreakable?) utility vehicle, that's also capable of long haul journeys.

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

The 750 above, looks to me like the kid of car you could run until it breaks, then scrap for parts and end up breaking more or less even... less the cost of the petrol tanker-esque fuelling requirements. Or is it just a very bad idea?

Has the seal split or just lost some of its flexibility?
If the latter I've heard it said vaseline restores this.
No idea if an urban myth...
Thanks all that commented

My blu tac bodge has prevented any further water getting in, and I've been careful not to brake harshly as that can cause a build up of water to be spewed.

Seal has split. Will squeeze it to the man before Christmas!

That 750 ... unbelievable value. You have to assume it’s gonna need something done, but still.

Picture 27 - buttons on the side of the centre arm rest “just going out to top up the oil dear - (scuttles off to play with the memory seat function)”

I've been watching these for a bit... won't be long before they are in thread territory.

I'm a bit wary of the SMG... are they troublesome and stupid?

Even better if you get one with comfort seats (the separate head rest "wings" give it away)

Not sure if it matters to you but a friend had an X5 with the 335d engine, the suspension was comically hard. He hated it and sold it on.

SMG? I thought they would have a normal ZF torque converter automatic. Wasn’t SMG for E36 and E46 M3 and E60 M5?

Correct, they do not have an SMG unit, just the standard ZF.

I guess you could play the private seller against the dealer. 40k les miles is quite a bit.

I’d much prefer a LWB version though - if you’re gonna get one might as well be a big one.
