Had the first niggle with the new XJR today Just as I was pulling up outside the house this evening the headlights flickered off and then back on again. This also happened on one of the previous jags and was fixed by replacing the combined indicator/headlight switch stalk. I'm hoping it will be the same again rather than a different cause - there are plenty available on ebay at a reasonable price.
It's a bad time of year to suddenly find yourself without headlights
If it’s an x350, it could be worth checking the earth points behind the headlights, although they normally generate a few other messages on the dashIt's a bad time of year to suddenly find yourself without headlights

just out of question when did you sell your old 750iL, and if I may ask, why?
Oooh, that was a good while back - five years ago according to my PH garage history. It was because I'd just bought the Bentley Turbo R (from our very own 21st Century Man) and running both, plus the other cars we had at the time, was just a little too extravagant, even by my standards Incidentally, it went to another PH'er, Bob the Planner.

Has anyone ever driven through an underground car park barrier in Spain while trying to feed a ticket into a machine on the wrong side because the driver left it in park with the handbrake on then slipped on to the throttle while reaching over through the passenger window?
I have.
Perhaps the Merc was wise to have passed the trip because of aI have.

I know it's too small and not a V8/10/12 petrol but I like the look of this, as mini-barge/tip car (it's even got a boot liner).

Does anyone off the forum live near Kilmarnock?
I live nowhere near Kilmarnock, but I’ll be there the weekend before Christmas if it helps!C270cdi estate, in a good colour. £1500

Not quite! But I nearly soiled myself in a similar situation when I stepped on the throttle of r129sl's W124 at the car park barrier in Le Mans.
After a couple more episodes, I decided it was better for my nerves & back to just hop out and run round...

I live about 30 minutes away and spotted that on AT this morning. My unsuccessful GS300 purchase has left me perusing the usual websites. May want to check the MOT history.
Good point, I've now checked. Edited by C12HLL on Thursday 5th December 16:27
I can't imagine them fixing all that.

And it’s been relisted- item 274127298938
The final bid from a zero feedback bidder, and speed of relisting, will only heighten suspicions that the vendor expected it to get close to, or exceed, thread max.
Your post enlightened me, wonder why so may cars I watched on the bay would get relisted so often after being "won".The final bid from a zero feedback bidder, and speed of relisting, will only heighten suspicions that the vendor expected it to get close to, or exceed, thread max.

Barriers, drive-ins etc. just go through backwards. Les Flics love a high speed reverse 180 out of an autoroute toll booth.
All I can imagine is one of our erstwhile barges powering up to the toll, some form of Scandi-flick (not sure how many of us have actual handbrakes now), then into reverse, throw some notes out the window and then power out backwards performing the obligatory J-turn and disappearing in a wall of cylinders and petrol fumes. 2006. 630i

Both £3k each!
Then I spotted this 2004 645i at £3.5k - probably the better buy.

Top up to thread max on an initial service you can move up a slot in the golf course car park.

A handsome beast, right in the middle of Manningham. Would be an entertaining transaction. 728 days later said:

If the photo were taken on a shingle driveway, outside a nice cottage in a Bradford village, I'd think differently.
