Go on then, Northbrook. The least you can do is give us a review!

I’m in a Lexus mood lately so I’m very envious of anyone with an LS400, let alone one that cost £1!

Prime slice of fully functioning barge for a quid! Wonder what the first owner would think if they knew?

Technically not in thread budget...so shouldn’t be featured on these pages.

It's not *entirely* thread, but if someone knew of an E46 Clubsport in velvet blue for sale with a great service history, all receipts etc (and Spanish, naturally) would there be any thread interest?

The sale of the Clubsport would then allow the current owner to buy a recently pranged 760i...
Where might one find an ad for such a thing?

It's very brown... and the ad appears to have been written by a wasp operating Google translate... but I still would.

Very nice

Continuing the Audi theme, I’m thinking this 2.8 80 would be a decent buy:

Great news, but I suspect 'the catch' is the bloody enormous spider on your passenger window.

Nice little car.
Haha, took a few looks to work that one out!

Northbrook, great effort there - think that's 175th of the lowest price I've ever paid for a car!

I must try harder. Cheapest car I ever bought was £620! I sold it for £2500, mind.

“Tow equipment“, what does that mean on an A8? Retractable hook do we think? Or just prep for one? This low mile 4.2 claims massage front and rear seats. Mmm. £4400.

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

ETA, not sure what’s claimed is on the car, it may just be a generic list of stuff. It claims beige birch wood which it isn’t and rear badge deletion which is all there...

Quite. Northbrook has completely misinterpreted what ‘1-5 large’ means on this thread!

Joking aside that’s an outstanding effort and I look forward to updates.

Come on, chaps - it was an extremely large pound coin!

I've only had the chance, so far, to pootle about in the dark & rain, but:

I can see why the car would have been a sensation on launch. It's pretty good even now (although I have no previous on really nice modern cars), with the most noise coming from the recently-fitted (probably) ditch finders. Or the squeaking of the spare wheels on the leather.

Engine makes a nice, restrained woofle. Brakes make an occasional singing. Lights behind the cabin temp displays don't work - terrible.

Throttle action seems a little odd - seems like my toes have to rotate a fair way forward.

Seats are comfy.

That's about as much as I can manage right now - lottery played, and beer now being drunk.

Talking about being drunk, I've had a nice message from the previous owner, who's drowning his sorrows in a L300 bottle of wine. I did offer that he could have the car back in 3 months when they move, but she'd prefer that he moves on so will probably not tell him!

More - perhaps on its own thread - when I've had more of a chance to check the car out. So far, I'd say it's worth a pound.
