Would probably look OK without the spacers and the correct profile tyres.

Strange as going by the sellers description, he doesn’t seem the type to ‘scene’ a car.

Probably. Otherwise it’s a damn fine looking thing. But I’m perverse; I’d prefer the 80 v6.

Hoping some in here can help.

My 2.0 190e has always been ever so slightly lumpy at idle when cold, fine when warm. It doesn't bother me too much as it doesn't effect the car negatively.

I think it may be an air line or vacuum that's off. My economy gauge has never worked, and I believe it's run off a vacuum pipe. The thing is I don't know where it's located, what to look for or what part to buy to fix it.

Economy wise it doesn't seem to suffer. Usually with mixed driving the fuel reserve light will come on at 270-280 miles driven, and tonight a 195 mile round trip was done on just over half a tank.

Any thoughts?

There seems to be quite a but of value at the moment.

2006 750i £3500 115j miles black with cream

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

2006 CL500 87k £3300

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Different beasts, but still.

Fair enough, they are both essentially 13 years old and you’d need to allow having spend something on them before too long, but there seems to be quite a lot of motors in this league for ~ 3 and a half grand.

They (almost) look like the huge dishes fitted to the new Mercedes Maybach S600. Perhaps that was the inspiration?

Please Sir, can I have a thread overdraft?

It’s a 2007 CL500

Chap has £7k on the add, but a sharp intake of breath, waving an envelope of cash, and pretending to walk out the drive will surely bring it closer to thread range.

I'd like to know why it's badged as a CL55 AMG. They didn't even make a CL55 in this shape, I think! For that reason, ahm oot!

Dear Eagle Eye,

I bow to your beardage.

Maybe it’s a oddity or the garage that did the repair thought that’s what it was and bashed it up incorrectly.

It’s certainly means an extra sharp intake of breath with a combined head shake at bargaining stage.

2010 e350 cdi estate

144k miles but it’s £5k and a private sale.

Looks like a lot of car with many years left unit for 5 grand, probably best fought with a ‘gonna keep it for many years’ approach.

It states it in the ad. It's just an AMG badge. Still a lovely motor though.

An odd one for the ‘mid-badging cars’ thread.

That's is indeed a good spot...good options too sunroof, memory seats and DAB..,mileage certainly not an issue if cared for.

Apologies, it has been some time since I teased my purchase of what seems to be a rather nice 850 T5 estate.

I've had it for a month or so now and I'm delighted with it. It's got a long history on the Volvo owners forum and for once I've bought something that's had tons of care and money thrown at it. Of course, it's nigh-on 25 years old and has done 180k+ miles so frankly all bets are off at this point but I'm quietly confident that it has tons of life left in it.

It's a bit odd being back in something with a throttle cable and no driver aids beyond ABS after all these years. The driving is dominated by the mid range, it's one of those cars which actually doesn't feel that quick but which just keeps building speed. I can see why the police rated them so much, it's a very stable high speed cruiser.

Having had one of these with a map on it, it would be rude not to give this one a little tickle as they really do have a lot more to give.

It's very blue smile

Faults so far are an irritating battery drain which I'm hoping to chase down this weekend. I'm suspecting it's the aftermarket immobiliser which now does nothing but is still connected to power. Also the brakes are...... ehhhhh..... about as good as they ever were. I've got the caliper carriers for a 302mm plod spec brake upgrade so that'll get done at some point.

Bodywork is generally good, save some rust around the roof gutters where the seals rub. That probably won't be a cheap fix but I'll get it done sooner rather than later.

I'm just enjoying driving it, it's a genuinely different and charming thing compared to more modern cars. I'm not going to say it's better, in so many areas it empirically isn't, but it has that "something" which makes me happy. That's what it's all about smile
