Evening everyone, in my last post, 2 years ago I had 7.8 litres of German barge in the garage and now I find myself with 8.3 litres of Japanese barge.
For no other reason other than curiosity I sold the W124 for an LS400 which I am really enjoying. It’s lovely to drive, to be inside and to look back at. Now for no other reason than curiosity I have bought a 430.
Fellow threadist Euan and I struck a deal on his 227k mile 430 featured a few pages ago and as well as displaying great patience in waiting for me to organise collection he also put enough petrol in for me to make an extended maiden voyage on arrival in Somerset. What a gent.
And what a car.
It has worn its miles incredibly well - only ever been to a Lexus garage- and I have not yet found a fault. The rear of the cabin is particularly impressive with electric recline, heated and massage seats.
Astonishing amount of car for the money.
I plan to run it for a year or maybe less as I’m already looking at the recent interest here in the 460.
Anyway must sell the 400 first!

This is a great find, 0a! It's either one for Tobinen to run down and collect, ditching his unfortunate E39... or one for JOB201 to go and collect!bolidemichael said:

Tobinen please (sorry JOB), due to the high res before and after shots
I just want to see the paperwork before (stuffed in that folder) and after (correctly categorised and separately filed) shots (#YesIActuallyMeanThat).I cannot be the only one whose molars need scratching while looking at that.

Slightly scruffy but pleasingly colourful W140 S320 for 2 bags pre-haggle.

PS, I appear to be not the only one with garage envy!
dam i wished i had 1 garage , let alone 2........................................... perhaps Santa will help, i mentioned it in the letter this year - i'm sure Santa is a barge lurker on here , he's been around a while and probably has a few old sleighs in his garage gathering raindeer poop.
Not seen one in this colour before, also has rear blinds and a sunroof Ooooh and the air purifier like my Crown!

Buenos días a todos.
Just boarded the boat and waiting for the off back to Blighty. In the queue was a W126 on French plates but RHD. I knocked on the window and he was pleasant enough for a brief chat about it. Old boy on his own, shirt, slacks, jumper and loafers. Nice chap. May pester him later if I bump into him on the boat, though he may think I'm a stalker
Plenty of French crumpet working on the boat too.

I did see a couple of sorry-looking 140s here but otherwise very poor show of thread fodder.
a tiny bit over thread budget - but considering the clk500 i posted earlier i thought this might be a good compare @ £6990 with decent 6 month warranty
https://www.mercland.com/car.html?id=5411
Not keen on wheels, and rear bumber looks a slightly different shade - perhaps a rear arch respray, other than that , looks fantastic

EDIT - ah i see it - was on my phone - mirrors and front lip
Depends if it is real carbon then that's a win, will be worth a fortune, if as Krikkit said it is tat then ... not so much.
I have a carbon front / rear splitter and light inserts on my Vantage, the light inserts alone are about £300 and the splitter £x000s!
The CLKs are really a smart car, not too offensive like modern Mercedes and without the running costs of a CL, unfortunately i do not think it would suit for camping, unless of course i sold my Alfa and bought a CLK500 AND old Defender - that'd be thread surely? (actually thread would be a L322 wouldn't it ...)
CL500, 68k, a haggle from top thread.

We followed one of these for a while yesterday and it sounded magnificent.
Due to health reasons I will be receiving my drivers license back after two years getting lifts everywhere. Being sick for two years certainly focuses the mind on living while you can,
So I mentioned to the wife that I would love anything with a V8 for a while before they become extinct. The response was not what I expected...and indeed rather encouraging

That is just such a lovely colour. LS430s are so colour dependant. But why have 96 photos of it? https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Congratulations. I too am well aware of how much of a pain it can be, and what a f*cking nightmare the DVLA are. So....enjoy driving again You may find they'll only give you a valid license for a few years before having to re-issue it, which is a pain, but still....it's great to get it back!
