To bring it back to those clocks.. Grand Seikos are like Seikos “premium” range that are exquisitely crafted and cost thousands. My mates got a 3 year old E class with the clock and tells me you set it digitally for it then to display on the display!
Correct - the one in my W211 used to do a merry jig about all over the place when you set it. I could never work out what logic powered it - setting it forward an hour often resulted in it winding back 9 hours, then forward 20 hours (yes, past the target), then back 10 hours. None of the stopping points were, for example, midnight.Anyway, I think the digital clock in the LS400 says everything about the mindset that went into the LS - make everything the highest possible, simple quality. A digital clock is never ambiguous, or easy to misread. It also avoids tying any louche overtones of grandure into what's a fairly anonymous vehicle.

An easy win for Mercedes, compared to the more strict utilitarianism (not quite but I can’t remember the right word as it’s Saturday night) of earlier Lexus.

I would love for it to be true but I can’t see any way that a genuine Grand Seiko gets fitted in a car.
The ‘Breitlings’ in a Bentley, for example, are not.
Its the Grand Seiko Quartz movement, Caliber 9F82, or a 9F something, without the date. The ‘Breitlings’ in a Bentley, for example, are not.

Its the Grand Seiko Quartz movement, Caliber 9F86, as fitted to something like an SBGN00* series. The ‘Breitlings’ in a Bentley, for example, are not.

not tempted to hare off into some weird parts of the internet to try to check!
I did and edited my post, it's not clear what exact calibre, but it is a GS....and my car doesn't have it as its a dual EMV model, I get the usual ubiquitous Toyota green digital

4.2 supercharged L322 sneaks into cheap tax and is a smidge over thread. Claimed to be on sale for a customer now reads as a px, and has dropped a couple of k since it first went on.

There aren't many cars/engine sizes I haven't ran in a fairly short driving history (13 years).http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2019...
But the thought of running that scares even me!

I think the Japanese are not really known for their fineries..... They are well renowned for their electronics, and their car build quality. Having a clock like the Merc wouldn't be very Japanese, in my opinion.
The Merc clock does look nice though.
Are you kidding? Check out Credor or Grand Seiko. Lovely, fine watchesThe Merc clock does look nice though.

Divine.Only in this immeasurably small corner of the internet would anyone describe a V12 Jag as a “safe buy”. (!)
They have the potential to ruin even the most powerfully built and financially successful company director. So potent is it’s power that it could ruin a relationship and make you cry in just one ‘maintenance pause’.
A guy I know had one. He was well versed and
rehearsed in running low cost/high liability cars. It was the most thankless car.
It’s one of those cars that I’m glad exists, but I’d run a mile before I took the keys to one.

Looks like it could go cheap and I think far preferable to the grey one.
