Big spec and an awful lot of car for the money.
eek
If it all works that's an awful lot of car for that much money.
Had mine for nearly 2yrs now and still love driving it every weekend.

Where's the best place to read up on these? Are they likely to chuck up naughty bills at random? Always been a 129 SL fan but these are cheap!

Boot seals can let in water which then ruins the roof motor
usual ABC suspension stuff (cheaper to fix these days but potentially a big bill
ABC tandem pump

Mine was reliable apart from a headlight control module and needed to replace / rework the boot seal.

R230 has to be just-about the most expensive-looking sub £5k car, surely?

They've aged wonderfully and walk the line between elegant and flash very adroitly.

And £7k.
Promisingly, I spy a 1970ish rover and another couple of old Mercs on the drive. They look like hobby cars/mini collection.

But does that beg the question of why get rid of the 140? Just it’s time to be changed? Or a looming bill?

I'd avoid that company like the plague.
Admin fee.
Selling as spares/repairs no warranty implied etc yet they'll happily put a warranty on it for you if you pay extra.
Doesn't fit their stock profile yet they seem to sell anything and everything.
Anything sub £5k seems to be a part exchange which means they can't put a warranty on it?

Pricks!

If you have a look around his other listings there are various niche offerings.

One example would be a Land Cruiser. Sadly a V6.

A strong (£1750) haggle required... but, nevertheless, a 400bhp+ supercharged big cat, with full service history within spitting distance of top thread.

I do like the SV8, but that one has a silly exhaust and awful chrome mirror caps.

Oh.

I have fond memories of my father having a 2.5 CD saloon and a 3.0 Elite Estate as company cars. I can still remember how good the CD smelt and I still think the design is lovely now.

Seats look a bit tatty, but that looks pretty good.

I'd be tempted to have the mirrors, side gill and bumper strakes painted the same shade of the bodywork to take the bling factor down.

This one looks good if you can stand silver, closer to thread budget:

Also, while browsing XFs, this non-supercharged V8 looks very thread-compatible. Nice area (edge of an AoNB), 4x matching Michelin Cross-Climates. £5695 but it's been up since November.

I think this has perhaps made me realise XFS are driven by wrong'uns.

Chrome mirror caps and stupid exhaust on number 1, the description in number 2 and those awful V8 badges on number 3 despite it being a very understated spec and almost elegant.

At least there aren't any leapers.

In the airport on your way to collect it.

Honestly look at it, sublime!

ETA, the green headlights are curious. Not so curious as to rule it out for anyone, just curious.

V8 badges were standard on some smile

Noted on the others, but try buying a W211 without the same naff treatment.

Omegas you say? Got two, I say. Both with the correct number of pedals (and a gearchange from a Victorian signal box).

Just got one back from the painters after extensive work. Typically, it's rained cats and dogs almost nonstop since it came home... But I will put it back together. Maybe even without bits left over...
