Plenty of thread worthy barges at that sale. I like this. Wheels not correct but may be a substitute for the orginal metric wheels. My old E23 had metric sombreros and I swapped them for normal steelies and hub caps.

I think this one looks great as well. https://angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic/saturday-2...
I loved mine! All too brief ownership

My dad had one of these on an E plate, I got my only speeding ticket ever 10 minutes into driving it to Prague. I'm going to send him the link! What's the thing on a curly cable in the passenger footwell?
Radio needs setting fire to.
Love the bottle of oil in the spare wheel under the bonnet.
Other than that, *logs on to M&S to buy some new undergarments and trousers*
The gear lever on ours was leather topped, with zig zag stitching, I can image that this would wear badly and be impossible to replace. I was used to the radio between the front seats, not in the dash!

I think that the saloon and estate values differ ever so slightly. Have you more info on yours?
My S211 isn't a thread car as such....in that it cost me more than double the top of thread budget, 3 years ago. It's a E55 on a 54 plate and is currently costing me a fking fortune, with a service and MOT still to come this month.
This thread did inspire it though, as I went from a succession of new cars, to going out looking for something thread worthy in a E500 flavour. Then I had a go in a E55 and bought that instead, obviously!

These feel so immensely solid. I felt mine was boring to drive, then I had a storm soaked weekend driving from scotland to wales in it at the same speeds as a dry weekend. Great machines.

The 850i looks good for the predicted money and that black E55 is lovely, pre-facelift cars just have the perfect amount of menace to them.
I like the outside of the E55 , not so sure about the inside....https://angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic/saturday-2...
This looks cheap doesn't it? Always had a soft spot for a 635CSI

Yeh, it's not the nicest. Two-tone seats very rarely look good.https://angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic/saturday-2...

That has got one, super-clean MOT historyWheels look good. What's on your shortlist for tyres?
I went for Michelin CrossClimate+, which are their current model, in (I think) 195 65 15 flavour. No complaints over 5000 miles, and apparently they still look fairly new (said a tyre place recently). I haven't yet had the chance to try them in snow, but they handle the rest pretty well, weren't too expensive, and aren't noticeably noisy.

Some serious barge inflation.... this W126 was on sale from its private owner for 2.5K for a while.
Now on sale at a dealer for.....8K

My X350 passed its MOT last week with just one advisory. Oil and filter change today, thankfully Euro Car Parts had one of their rare sales on so got a fairly good deal on the oil.
The less good news is that the orange side marker below the petrol flap has gone missing, and the cheapest replacement on eBay is £40 posted. Seems excessive for a bit of orange plastic it’s such a small thing and I’m sure most people wouldn’t notice it was missing, but bit annoys me far more than it perhaps should!
