A lengthy ad for possibly the cleanest looking S210 I've seen for a while.........

I like that. A Lot.

A decent service and A Man that does spheres, and I'd be driving that and feeling like A Lord.

Definite potential in that S210. I bet it goes for silly money though

Define “silly money”? When all’s said and done it’s done 146k, has milky headlights and isn’t the biggest engine, so I’m not sure if you mean 30p more than the current £300 bid, or you think there’s going to be a bidding war between people who want a high mileage, tired old thing without it being a 500?

Didn’t we have someone struggle to get a few k for a 430 recently?

I like the blue 500. I would expect it to be worth more, or do you think differently?

Having read the ad, the seller claiming to cover 2k miles a year, and the cords showing on the tyres, before you’ve ignored the ticking lifter and all else for the imminent MOT (and paint not being that good despite a repaint), I’d think £500 would be toppy tbh, but I wasn’t sure.

I think it will reach near £1,500-ish. Perhaps 'silly money' was the wrong choice of phrase but I think it will go for more than one might think, whoever is that 'one'

Always partial to a bit of Bornite.
Looks pretty good, nice bit of wheel-trimmery.
Are the 190's climbing this much in value? I paid a third less for mine last summer (2.0 auto)

It is the biggest engine apart from the 5.5L fitted to the AMG version.

There was not a 500 until the S211 shape

Desirable colours. But....175k miles with dealer price tag. I don't think it's worth half that. I may be wrong though!

Believe the 2.6 carries a premium over the 4 cyl cars. I found my old one really accomplished for both town and longer journeys.

How about a brace of V12s?

Mercedes S600 V12 BiTurbo

A strong haggle at £6,000 ONO, mind.

But it is silver...

Or, a forum favourite;

E38 750iL

£3,695

Bit tatty, needs a new windscreen - but it does have double glazing...

That lexus is gopping!
Lower/stiffer springs and elastic bands for tyres? Plus the ugliest wheels you could possibly fit to that car. Way to ruin the whole point of the ride quality.
Oh and loving the strut brace to make it handle schpoorty.
And loving the exhaust pipes coming out at different angles!!!

Couple of honest sounding thread favourites from the 'Trader:

A gravel dwelling 7 seat E500 for £3k ish:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2020...

And an X5 4.8 with a highly useful extended warranty for the same:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2019...

Both sound tempting but have a number of other outgoings at present demanding attention...
Very much like the X5, however apparently school fees are 'more important'

A couple of modifications really do help the early LS400.
Sorry, did you say 'help'...!?

I've always thought the early cars lo0ok a bit dopey compared to the facelifted ones, but the red one looks a lot sleeker
