I love that old 7 series. A great colour combination as well. Doubt you'd get one like that often now!

In the village where I work there is a Gerald with an S-type with a silver "V8 inside" badge on the back in the "Intel inside" style. See it almost everyday and it really puts a smile on my face.

Over budget / not really a barge - but I can't think of anywhere else to post this where the advert language will be appreciated, so posting it in here.

Must be a joke. Worried that it isn't.

Who is the vendor? The soft-core pornography correspondent to the Mercedes Enthusiast? 'Kin hell.

Anyway, green is all the rage these days but I'm not sure it's worth busting thread budget for:

Do these people try hard to produce such crumby pictures? Some reassuringly nice company his "father's" the garage. I assume "father" in this context means "trader".

The first W140 went in was a (then new) S600 in that colour on a K-plate. It did not have a matching green interior but I can't for the life of me remember what colour the interior was.

£3800!!! Crazy cheap!

Haters gonna get frothy at this Ford Explorer, cheap tax, wafty 4.0, silly window deflector things, £3k with a new ticket seems good value to me.

I just love that. You're probably right about the price. But it's not a massive amount in the scheme of things... is it????!

It's a very elegant colour match for a classic vehicle. Nothing is found nowadays that looks like this - the W140 is really spectacular.

I like the green on green.

I'm not doing photos of this, cause they're a bit rubbish. But it's a facelift XJS 4.0 in blue and in budget.

From the look of that front seat, it has spent the lot of time being driven by someone’s mechanic who failed to put a seat cover on.

These will come down in value nicely once ULEZ takes its toll next year.

That sort of deep cleaning and restoration is an easy and very satisfying fix. I've even managed it myself with very pleasing results, and I am to home mechanics what Myra Hindley was to baby-sitting.

There must be something badly wrong with that. I remember posting it well before Christmas and if it still hasn't sold, I would surmise that it must be fked.

Either that or the entirety of the market for such a vehicle resides on this thread and none of us have bought it yet.

Got to be suspicious of photos where the auto timestamp has been concealed - just how outdated are they?

I defer to a BMW beard but I think this is a straight 6.

The green 140 has made at least two prior appearances. It's been for sale for months. Overpriced?

I'm afraid you're wrong, old chap. It is indeed a V8. A small one, mind.

Wide bonnet and grille on a 730i make it a V8.

I think the W140 has such a small market that whilst the price isn't unreasonable, it will take a long time to shift at that price.

A look on that website never fails to put a smile on my face, and I'm quietly happy to see that he's a fan of (rust free) W210s. Apropos of that, I had an exciting trip from Thanet to Bury last week, to pick up a JDM E55 that a friend has purchased. I must say, even without forced induction, it's a proper beast. For any who are interested, I'll post a few pic when the rain stops...

Thank you beards. I've learned that V8s were fitted to E32s. Every day, etc.

If it's the one I'm thinking of—and how many crystal green metallic S600s were produced?—it had cream-beige velours. It turns up in the Merc Club from time to time.

You could have a matching pair:
