We have a couple of Chesterfields in our lounge, the leather is sealed, I still put Gliptone on every now and then though, just for the smell, as they say, "It even smells of Rolls Royce".

at 7000 its a little over thread budget, even with a decent haggle - but its got a designo interior i think, and no dodgy air suspension to worry about - i'm also heading over that way middle of next week so might be able to arrange a viewing.

only issue i have is the "rusty merc" era, that i fell foul of when i had my merc c class...........

You can buy little air freshener things from gliptone which are impregnated with the leather smell. Saves cost and rubbing smile

That does look rather nice, but I'd really struggle not to double down and get an E55 or CLS55 at that kind of spend.

Sorry I hadn't properly read the spamvert, maybe not that one, although a bit of coolant use could be a few things, even something as simple as a pin-pricked hose. I don't think they're known for HGF. Anyway, maybe not that one, but there are others heading down to that budget. smile

Maybe this E55 in a great hue?

Love the colour. Not sure about the bonnet panel gaps!

Well spotted. The gap between the bumper and OSF wing widens to the front too?

Possibly just needs a bit of fiddling with the bumper alignment - if it's been off to fix a parking sensor or something trivial it's easy to put it back on a bit skew-wiff. The join between the bonnet, front wing and headlight suggests it's straight underneath.

I'm sure there's something not right about that E55. Think it was discussed on one of the MB forums....found it! Apparently some issue of loss of power on a test drive.

I think those CLK's are quite handsome things but they're a fair bit down on power compared to the E55. I really like the interior on that black one.

CLK55 an C55 are exactly the same in power,

0 - 60 mph= 5.2 seconds
Top speed- 155 mph
Cylinders - 8
Valves- 24
Engine power- 367 bhp
Engine torque - 376.20 lbs/ft

acc. to autotrader and given its the same engine

E55 and CLS55 are higher!

Tempted by this - low miles, promising MOT history, cheap, reasonably local and no obvious rust(?!?!) - what could go wrong?

Our non Chesterfield's although proper full fat leather sofas from Holland are soaking in the stuff, as is the wife's Volvo and my old Lex.

Sniffing the bottle you won't be impressed but the overall effect of it when you enter a room or car is excellent. It's not the leather smell we have been conditioned to believe is leather more an old aristocrat leather smell. My mechanic thinks my car smells of church. My mother in law thinks it smells like the dentist...

Either way it's bloody good stuff.

Don't be sad Krikkers, I really liked the look of it too, a non silver or black one is super rare.

Speaking of rare, don't think I've seen one of these before. It's a W210 E36 AMG and looks in decent condition. I'd never heard of them till I saw this advert but I'm sure others will have, those with proper beards.
I'm not sure I like the colour of the wheels against the colour of the car.

There’s a chap on the MBC forum restoring one. Admittedly he saved it from the scrap man, but blimey a case study in 210 rusting. If you didn’t know the age of the car, from the photos you would think it was a contemporary of things like XK120s and TR3s.

I don't understand why people can't polish up those cloudy headlight lenses when selling - costs less than £20 for the kit and makes the car look so much better

I was wondering about this the other day, I reckon of every 10 vehicles I post:

- 8, advert expires, unsold,
- 1, chopped in to WBAC at the painful price anyway
- 1, probably scrapped hehe

Take this wonderful fridge white Peugeot 605 3.0 with a daft 3.5k price tag. The ad will expire. Again. Despite that flumpy velour...
