You need quick access to your shooting irons in a Jag.

Rounding 3555 cc to 3.6 is like how I say I'm six foot up from 5'10" though.

With an XJR doesn't every journey include a visit to the petrol station? biggrin

This is possibly the best impression of Stanley Unwin I've seen on the thread - top job!

In other news I found a broken fog light when cleaning the V70 (unusual activity in this season) and managed to replace it for less than £40 from EuroCarParts. Even the bulb still worked.

The corresponding lamp on the nearside was half full with water (an exciting wade through a byway) but has now drained, and still works.

Rapidly approaching it's third anniversary in my employ, idly dreaming of upgrading to something only ten years old...
Stanley Unwin you're showing your age there young man smile

under 6.5K , possible haggle without taking up the warrany/part-ex, its tempting me ........... although the front badge would have to go.

With a Star Wars reference perhaps would you prefer something?

6.5 grand is crack-pipe territory. The leaper is just the icing on the cake.

What is it with Jaaaaaaag drivers that put tacky recreation leapers on the bonnet?

On a serious note though - if your added-on leaper ripped into a pedestrian in a collision, how bent over by the law are you likely to get?

Can't think why you'd buy one of those when you can get an XJR for the same / less money.

Also, £6.5k??!!

No way I'd even look twice at that price. If you need a supercharged Jag V8, why not any of the following (for way less money also...)

SV8 for £4,494

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202...

XJ-R for £4,690

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202...

XK-R for £5,490

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202...

Any of these, to me, is far preferable (especially considering price!!) than the tacky S-Type R.

Leaper and extra badge = absolute throbber spec. Laughably the leaper doesn't even fit on the bonnet properly:

I'd definitely get an XJR or XF instead.

ETA: Just stumbled across this one too, full wibble.

And they've added a little splash-risk target to the urinal.

Good fun, but I'd prefer something that I could chase around in circles.

I tried that once wearing light coloured strides in the US. Never again. Most US places still use hand-towels instead of dryers, this compounded the problem, unfortunately.

You're a man of unassailably good taste. That looks to me to be a lovely motor to me, and would be my pick also.

It would be impossible to me not to swap the drive pullies on the supercharger for a slight overdrive, a slightly free-er flowing exhaust and a rolling road remap to a bit over 500hp... yum

Edit to add: all while looking like a grandad wagon on small inoffensive wheels, no spoilers, lips, uncouth holes in bodywork etc. Yes. That would do just fine!

That one looks all the better looking at the MOT history as well. The only minor fly in the ointment is the paint on the passenger rear door, maybe a bit of tlc required there.

Why is it that fast Jags depreciate so much, whilst a Merc or BMW of the same performance from that era is x2 as much?
