I had my cats replaced with straight pipes, but left the original backbox in - was not loud that way (with a Capristo obviously different) - it also passed UK MOT that way [was much cheaper than cats]
Thanks for the suggestion, but I can't do anything that would make it even louder! I've taken my neighbours out for drives in it, so that hopefully they will forgive the noise when I head off early to car meets.

The SF90 Stradale would solve the problem, because I could head off under electric power, but sadly one wouldn't fit in my garage (setting aside the fact that there is no way I could afford one).
That's what people used to do back in the day, decat capristo. This guy in the video being one of the first in the uk. There was also an owner from derby with the same setup and went to a lot of car shows few years back you could hear him coming a couple of miles away.

Personally I think referencing anything a bit old and modified against Singer is a little tired, not to mention insulting given the detail they put into their cars.

This is basically a 355 with an obnoxious exhaust, different springs and some interior mods with some-made up Italian sounding moniker. Think I'd just have a standard F355!

I've done something similar with my 430. Yes newer car but it has resulted in a much more visceral experience. Mods include remap, airboxes, exhaust, suspension, seats, battery, brakes, wheels, splitter, rear deck, diffuser and wrap. Result is lower, lighter, firmer, faster. I've had a couple people question messing with a Ferrari but it's a much better car for me because of it. We are at the end of an era and I intend to wring every bit of enjoyment out of this car before it's too late. Over 30,000 miles now so it's worthless anyhow.

That's immediately the coolest 430 I've ever seen, good on you beer

I'm not a fan I must admit.

Too loud for trackwork, Racing Wets on the road (don't even get me started on those....) and probably a terrible cruiser given those pipes.

Surely the worst of both worlds and now finds itself awkwardly between standard and Challenge with little of the benefits of either.

The Modificato badge is fairly tragic as well.

I'm biased because I'm a 90's kid and grew up loving these but that to me is what a Ferrari should look like.

Absolutely bloody beautiful.

I'm normally one for originality but I'd rather a car was used and cared for by an owner that understands it than kept away not driven and it sounds like the mods are done with the right intentions and just to the right amount.

Very nice indeeed.

I had two 355b's back in the day, the second car had the Fiorano pack and remains one of the best cars I have owned. I question why anyone would need to modify a 355 to this degree, but each to their own though the exhausts look crap.
Same story...but mines were manual spiders.

The fiorano one was notably better than the standard F355 and kept that for 7 years.

Had tubi on 1st and capristo on the fiorano one.

Great when your in the mood...proper old school F1 howl but i found it got a tad annoying after so much of a journey.

Loved the F355, but don't miss the '1 finger crossed' whilst driving, hoping to make a whole journey without something failing and yet another bill....assuming the part is available as there are loads that they don't make now.

Agree 100%. And as someone else mentioned also - that ridiculous sounding made-up moniker is indeed 'tragic'.

A set of Speedlines which look like they were found on eBay, some scaffold pipes for an exhaust, a second hand power steering pump and an uprated clutch? THAT is all that's now required to be referred to as a 'Restomod'?

Please, the only Singer this thing is worthy of being mentioned in the same sentence as, is a sewing machine!

Modificata was used on the 575 M ,in abbreviated form.

So what you are saying is, is that even Ferrari weren't so far up their own @r$es to use the full word: yep, says even more about the owner of this car then! wink

I thought it was just me...
Love the 355 but I’m not one to celebrate anybody driving with track-spec tyres on the road with an obnoxious exhaust.
If it was a young scallywag in a corsa PH wouldn’t approve so the fact it’s an older chap in a Ferrari doesn’t make it ok.
Perhaps I’m not a petrol head...

Perfect level of performance for a road going sportscar IMHO. Enough to be fun and exciting but not so much that you can never hit the rev limiter without being a tt. What a looker it is too, it only gets better with time.
What?

Hitting the rev limiter on the road in any gear in this car, or any other 355, means you'll still be either loud as fk, or going like fk - or both.

You lot are on to something, those who mention the need for a sensible exhaust. This and the Montana license plate (not defensible if you're resident in Florida and also an enormous risk in terms of insurance) seem, to me, like rather selfish decisions. Or perhaps I'm a killjoy and should simply find something else to comment on.

What I will say is that such tasteful mod's are very appealing. To me, anyway. Most of all, and this might seem silly to some, I appreciate that the owner has sub-branded his effort as Modificata, complete with badge on the car. Just a lovely idea that takes the car forward whilst honouring its past.

The track video posted by Dan is thrilling.

Just as PH forum member Aircooled_Bug has taken his Porsche round America, there is similar appeal, for Americans, to drive round Europe. It's good fun to see this car doing that. I'd love to do it, myself.

I was immediately drawn to the seats, just can’t believe how ‘right’ they look.
As an aside, am I the only person that thinks that with its lights up a 355 looks like it should be a character in the film ‘Cars’, with a slightly apoplectic smile...?
Great effort to make the car ‘just so’ btw.
