Been fortunate enough to experience most cars including Ferraris, Lambos, Paganis etc... Most sensory overload was in an Exige S1 with 300hp+ Honda supercharged conversion on the Mulsanne Straight at Le Mans. Proper tunnel vision moment and the noise...... Perhaps not the outright fastest, but when squeezed inside (with a cooler full of beers on my lap, naturally, it surpassed most other things for me.

Back in the day when Alfa 156 was available for a test drive. It was in middle of the winter here in Finland. I happily coasted along and then suddenly I had to do emergency breaking. Didn't even notice that I was speeding (about 150-160) while others were doing about 60-70. (Two lane highway and I didn't see them because of the curve)

Alfa156 with 2.5 motor. Brilliant, brilliant car
Is that not therefore an example of a car that doesn’t feel as fast as it is?

Agree that they’re lovely cars though. Only Alfa I’ve ever driven for my sins.

For me, it's a remapped C7 RS6, 675hp, coupled with the torque, and the AWD, it made me feel quite queasy under hard acceleration, seemed ridiculous for such a heavy car, only just sold it....

Recently was took for a spin in a 1994 Toyota supra manual.

Single turbo conversion, and running about 550bhp. It was savagely fast. No doubt there are quicker things on the road but the way that thing delivers it’s power is ridiculous.

Again not a car but a mate's Kart fitted with a tuned RD125LC engine, it was low geared for acceleration one of the lads watching swore the front wheels lifted just a little as it came on the pipe it was scary fast and impossible to keep your head up...what a thing.

Is fast - 427 Cobra and a GT40 on a deserted Swedish motorway

Felt fast - half-cut teenager in the back seat of an open top Triumph Stag on a warm summer evening in 1977

I suspect the answers to this question are always going to be subjective, as they depend on each different persons experiences and of course what type of car/s each different person has been in.
I remember seeing a YouTube video of a 911 (haven't a clue what one it was) having a ding dong with some superbikes on a motorway at night, I am guessing in America somewhere, where the bike riders were trying to get the 911 driver to give it some beans..
He finally did, and left the bikes for dead, after which he let them catch up again, and did it again, and again, and even after letting the bikes to accelerate away, it just blasted away, caught all the bikes up, and passed them all again. It was quite surprising, but on an arrow straight motorway, I guess anything might be possible.

Arial Atom on a track day: hilarious fun!
On the road: a pals MG Midget years ago, just ‘cos it was small and low.
Now: our KonaEV has a proper hot hatch feel about the acceleration when you want it too.

Sadly as a passenger in a Tesla on ludicrous mode

The most terrifying was a three wheeled ex hillclimb "go kart" I put on the road - in the days before IVA, 120bhp, 46 stone in weight, with your arse 2" off the floor.

I'm not that well versed in extremely fast cars but my CLS63 was quite a feeling when I first opened it up.

Having driven 260bhp hot hatches, I thought it would feel quick but, 'how much quicker can it really feel'. Quite a bit apparently. I think it's the fact that it's comfortable and very well spec'd but it really shifts. I know it's 510bhp in a relatively big car but it goes well. smile

I have owned my tuscan for a few years now and i still think it feels ridiculous, mainly because of the 100% commitment you need while driving it to the red line. In a straight line it held onto a 997 turbo which i was impressed with but in todays world theres a lot faster certainly. If you hit a bump at say 120 and the steering wheel isn't straight it will require some correction! Ok while in the moment but when you stop it feels like you just nearly died biglaugh

I recently went in a 750bhp gtr and it was un fking real hehe The amount of tarmac it needed to reach over 150 was something else, from the passenger seat it felt very lairy and nothing like i expected a gtr to feel like, it felt alive and brutal.

Going by all the comments though i feel i need to blag a trip in my neighbours tesla!
