2016 Suzuki Swift Sport.

Love the car for having a hoon but the dash is made of the same plastic you find at the bottom of a milk chocolate tray.

Squeeks and rattles on anything but smooth roads.

However I paid £11k for a fun car with 3k miles on it so overall I'm still happy.

Mini Cooper S track car - The groaning of the LSD on full lock is, apparently, a 'feature'.

BMW 225xe - The electric boot close on the inside of the lid is, helpfully, one-touch. Yet pressing the keyfob button once simply moves the bootlid ~6 inches. I can't see a world where that could be considered useful..

I have to select the driving mode I want EVERY time I start it up. Why can’t it remember the last setting?
Because of emissions testing. They have to default to the best economy setting because the testers aren't allowed to "press buttons". Hence everything defaults to economy mode and you cannot disable the mode.
I don't think that's true. My BMW hybrid defaults to the "Comfort" setting, whereas "Eco Pro" is more economical.

It absolutely is why it defaults but as to why BMW set it to default to "Comfort" rather than "Eco Pro" will be for another reason. Maybe it's because Eco Pro doesn't go fast enough (limit for WTLP is 131Km/h while in eco pro it's limited to either 90km/h or 80-130km/h). Or maybe it's because the changes are to things that aren't turned on during the test (no seat heating, no heated windows on, no climate control on etc).

There's no speed limit in Eco Pro mode. It's just the most economical driving mode.

I can also configure the hybrid settings separately (from max charging to max battery).

I genuinely think you're barking up the wrong tree with this one.

2010 xc90, the handbrake release has the rear fog light button right next to it, its really easy to tap the button when you pull the release, the warning lamp to show its on is in the button and you can't easily see it lit up because it is next to your right knee, so if you are not careful you drive around with fog lamps lit up like some clueless arse.

Cupra 300 - seems to be a lemon, had vibration issues which turned out to be a knackered diff, clutch now sticks half was sometimes and other times vibrates when lifted and need to declutch again. Low oil pressure the other night and it's back in the garage again.

Bulged 2 tyres and bucked a wheel, first car with 19" wheels. Seats are poor when pressing on.

R56 Cooper S - runflats tyres and firm suspension have had be lifted off of the seat on a few bumpy buts of road, working on roasting them asap.

It's needed a timing chain and fuel pumps and runs well now but I never really trust it. Vibrations at idle when hot sometimes for whatever reason, rock steady revs however.

Great drive otherwise.

I own a 2016 honda civic, auto (last of the FK2 chassis style).

Rattly interior plastics, especially when the car interior is hot (sat in full sun in the dummer). The gearing for the auto box is also quite looooooong so the dulling effect of an auto box is exacerbated further.

Still, i like the car, its comfortable and quiet and cheap enough for me to run

C70R I think you can change the boot settings (opening angle) in the iDrive menu.

The wife's Citroen C4 cactus
All of it!

But More specifically the cup holder won't hold anything other than a burger king medium cup. Cans fall out, water bottles fall out, all my different coffee cups fall out.
And the door bins are huge and protrude over the wide cill. Lovely for storing things, but I have to open the door really wide so there's room to get my size 12's out, which is not easy to do in a car park!

You can indeed, but it doesn't seem to change what the keyfob button does. Genuinely baffled by that one.

If C4 Cactus is crap - is it just the cup holders?

No, just those 2 points really grip my testicles.
However other items on the list of hates are - no rear cabin light, no rear usb port or charger, no rear cup holder, steering wheel doesn't adjust for rake, touchscreen is very slow, glove box is small, rearview mirror is right in my line of sight (I'm tall) so I can't see anything in that quarter, slow, under damped, the list goes on.
But the wife likes it because it looks different and it's purple

Eco Pro is configurable from the iDrive and those settings are permanently remembered. Speed limit/warning (I can't remember which) is an option, as is limiting the climate control, and on later cars coasting when you back off (unless you're going downhill enough to increase speed, or braking). If you like you can turn everything off in the iDrive, and all you get then is a poor throttle response, a low gain on the throttle pedal, and if you have an auto it'll change up earlier. Comfort mode though is default, so interestingly that'll presumably be the mode used by the standard EU emissions tests? Or maybe the tests allow a different mode to be selected?
