Get an Unimog instead of this soviet crap.
There's a bit of a price difference. sidekickdmr said:
My long term plan would be to camper convert the back and take it on long trips to Europe, im not expecting comfortable, but will it happily do 55/60 for long stretches, or are we looking at a tank, which does 30 and kills your back/ears?
Don't get either. Get a 4x4 van or rwd transit/Merc that'll be rugged enough for whatever mildly rough stuff you actually meet. It won't be as grrrr but also won't make your ears bleed and rape your wallet.Ive just fininshed a contract constructing and commissioning a new power plant in Vietnam and the contractor had this Zyl Fire Truck for any emergency, it was the biggest bag of shyte i have ever seen or heard. There were rusted holes all over it and when they used to fill the on-board water tank it would trickle and leak out. Useless thing;

6mpg, so a return trip to the Costa del Sol will set you back £3600 in fuel!!!Sounds great, go for it.
Back in the 90's, a mate of mine used to have a WW2 GMC 6x6 and that did about 4mpg.
Was a hoot to drive though, although a 30 mile trip felt like 3000 miles

I don't know how the delivery system would work, but I've heard you can run these low compression engines on coal dust.
The British Army had something similar called the DROPShttp://www.ljacksonandco.com/index.php/trucks/drop...
Engines would run on pretty much anything combustible, handy in remote war torn areas

Very nice, looks quite sporty depending on the angle. deadtom said:

Guy on YouTube - Maximus Ironthumper - has a series of videos on his.
A great channel, but most of the project awesome videos are concerned with how he is doing the engine swap in order to sidestep the issue of comically bad fuel consumption...Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
