TBH.
I would put this car in the same category as the Lamborghini Countach.
Totally impractical, horrible to drive, expensive to own and run. Poor build quality and liable to become a huge money pit.
Its cartoon chatacature of a car that appeals to the child inside us and adorns schoolboy bedroom walls.
Every fiber in your body knows that owning one is a ridiculous idea.
But you still want one.....
I can’t see the link. The lambo whilst being some mod what you say, has a wonderful character, engine and styling. The Rover, well it’s a a Rover! I would put this car in the same category as the Lamborghini Countach.

If you gave a pre-teen a blank sheet of paper and some crayons with the instruction ‘draw me a sports car’ I actually think they may come up with this; purposeless wing vents, daft rear spoiler and the rear lights that look like somebody couldn’t be bothered.
I hope the dealer trying to sell this and it’s stablemate haven’t risked all in the hope they’ll sell this for the advertised price, as others have said I think they’ll have it a while.
Apart from curiosity value, why would you have this over an Aston or a Porsche? In no criteria whatsoever is it better than either of those, but it does epitomise all that was wrong with MG Rover.

I had a Manual 4.6 SV in 2006
@ £34k it was a quirky sports car and it certainly got some looks and intrigue in XP Grey
The 5 speed was a pain at motorway speeds. Cried out for a 6th geat
However £50k for this with an old Mustang 4 speed Auto box and no paddle shift - its a real bad buy for the money

I've always liked these, unashamedly brutish looks. They just need the wing vents colour coding.
Not a sensible buy though, with parts (un)availability.
What are the performance figures?
With thanks to the MG owners club - Performance
Top speeds Circa 165 (175 SVR) mph
0 to 60mph 5.0 (4.8 SVR) seconds
