Yep, seen them a lot recently. Always the same, weird pricing such £5,634 and always a picture with an email and a request not to bid through the site. Completely phoney.

These are usually listed on accounts that have been hacked.

Zero up front cost for the scammer, difficult to track them down and the amazing 'deal' will involve some sort of advanced payment to secure!

Ebay have been told about these types of auctions for years (I've reported a few to them over the years) but seem not to care enough to do anything about it.

Whilst it might be hard sifting out the scam ads from the real ones in an automated manner it's not beyond the capabilities of eBay, there's just no incentive for them.

It's not even difficult technically, they just choose not to address it. Looking forward to ebay getting overtaken in the market by someone who prefers a platform with actual content.

I've seen these recently, you can report to Ebay via the advert. I've reported a couple in the last 2 weeks. The 1st listing disappeared then re-appeared a week later.

This is a current selection of fraudulent listings, several of which were reported a while ago. Ignored by eBay so nearly all items have been bid up to the £70,000 mark by well-meaning folk, in the hope of deterring innocent victims.
