Friend of mine was stopped for doing 70 in a 50. He was told by the police officer that it would be reported.
Does anyone have an idea what will happen ? Fine and points or possibly a speed awareness course ?

Too fast for a course, not fast enough to be advanced straight to Postal Requisition / SJPN.

Subject to your friend having less than 9 active penalty points (and there being no other circumstances which warrant involvement of a court), expect a CoFP - 3 points & £100.

Too fast for a speed awareness. Should be eligible for a fixed penalty.

If taken to court expect a weeks pay as a fine and 4-6 points or a short ban.

Agree with the first para.

100% of net weekly income is the starting point for someone convicted after trial.
