Hmm, not really, am thinking more an older Model S, in a UK provincial town, lowered a bit, some nasty bigger wheels, tints, badly fitted body kit, big spoiler being driven like a tool with a huge cloud of sickly Mixed Berry Vape Smoke coming out of the window.
And what about the NOISE? No fart cannon, no party!
Aha! VAG have already solved that problem for you here.hehe

So, how much does St Elon pay you for the advertising, anyway? rolleyes

You make the average Macolyte sound like a Doubting Thomas!
I paid 100k /to/ tesla.

This week my car got faster, more efficient, smarter and a brand new driving mode enabling one pedal driving using just regenerative braking (a world first...)

What did your car get?
Oddly enough, the XE has had a couple of over-the-air software updates - system software, not just maps and the like, but not new driving modes - Sport+Dynamic is plenty of fun already tongue out

I get that electric cars are the future, and it is quite likely that my next car will be an electric, if the range and price are right for me, but I do get cheesed off with the folks who come across as so devoted to St Elon and his Blessed Product that they have to shout about it all the time...

Hard not to when talking about a car that will go up against the model 3 directly? I honestly would have liked some choice when buying my tesla but nothing came remotely close. This looks like it should but it really needed to be released this year.

550kg battery pack? 550kg?! You might as well drive around with a steam engine and a boot full of coal.
But you throw out a 150kg engine, similar weight transmission + exhaust, fuel tank/lines, drive shaft etc. It'll be ~200kg heavier at most.

And 5 times as efficient

Depending upon the depth of one's scepticism, it may be, to some extent, a fruitless task to discuss the rising tide of battery-electric vehicles.

Asking questions is good. But running round the houses whilst another person moots each of your objections, one after the other, could be a sign that you require more time.

Laggards

"...show little to no opinion leadership... tend to be focused on traditions, lowest social status, lowest financial liquidity, oldest among adopters, and in contact with only family and close friends."

Yep, and we are comparing the first flush of viable production EV development with the best 100 years of ICE development can provide, Solid State Batteries will improve range and drop weight, I reckon EV's will end up lighter on average than an ICE car.

As great as these huge numbers sound, it'll be the cheaper, lower powered versions which really matter. Lets hope they don't wait too long before expanding the range downwards to compete with the entry level Model-3, etc. Hopefully they'll have a version in the UK which falls under the £40k "premium" tax band, or whatever it's called.

My parents car got Apple CarPlay over the air. One pedal driving is copying other OEMs - how is that a world first?

BMW charge £100's for carplay lol.

AFIK only nissan have full one pedal driving and they use the brakes not regen (for under 8km/hr).

The i3 comes to a complete stop without touching the brakes, regen is very strong.

So a world second for Tesla then, great.

Any chance this thread can stay on topic, it’s getting boring listening to the Tesla sales people yet again?

Go and drive one then you will get to see for yourself.

It will quite quickly make your BMW feel slow, awkward and a little embarrassing.

I actually don't think its a Tesla thing, it's an electric car thing, it's just that Tesla have been the first to make an electric car good to drive.
