Shmee was "contemplating" a Lamborghini for the channel, no doubt like a Transport for London "Consultation" this will have already happened and be pushed through rolleyes he must dip back on here and read that owning all the variants of the Mercedes AMG GT is a yawnfest... no time to check his channel TBH, perhaps at the weekend coffee
Tim is the least 'Lamborghini person' I could imagine!
Maybe he is glueing sequins to his slippers as we speak? Or injecting steroids into his biceps?

I Know it has been done to death the topic of finance but instead of asking where they source their funds to purchase these cars i'd rather ask how much
do you think it would cost to fund a channel like Shmee or TGE basically the overheads. I mean they buy cars, they have to store them, maintenance costs,
traveling costs and other costs im sure.

it must be a crazy amount of money just to stay a float.

Tim is probably hinting at getting the new STO. RWD, 640hp, 300lbs lighter and is basically the Huracan race car street legal.
If the road version really does turn out to be 136kg lighter, that's gonna be impressive.

Anyone seen the EvilGT channel on YT?

Couple of normal 40 something north west based friends who now have a small fleet of performance cars.

GTR, RS3, RS4, Focus RS, S15, Q3RS

Entertaining, unpretentious viewing.

Have a look.
Isn't this the channel with the guy that talked about losing 50k on PCP deals as he kept changing his cars early on that was discussed a while back on this thread?
That’s the one.

They’re still pretty entertaining. Not sure about some of the stuff they’ve done to the RS4 but it’s kind of brain out watching.

Given his content from the Ring is doing pretty well, and it is something that Tim clearly loves doing on a personal level, it would not surprise me in the slightest if the STO was already on order and fast laps have been scheduled in advance.

Slightly related - I didn't realise until recently that there used to be a Sudschleife track as well - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtVsAvRBzGo&ab...
It's an interesting channel that I found after talking to an school friend who reminded me of watching through the fence at the Delorean factory where we grew up - https://goo.gl/maps/8BY9mcSjeEHDpr9G9
The track is still there, but very overgrown.

I don't mean this to come across in a particularly 'hipster' way, but I'd genuinely never come across TGE in all of my Youtubing. I've got a fairly eclectic mesh of car related YT content that I follow and although I don't always subscribe, I often come across SOL, STG and Shmee videos etc but I'd never heard of TGE outside of this thread.

I think that goes to show that he must be at the wrong end of some sort of algorithm, I just searched for his channel to see if his face woke my memory banks up but nope, can honestly say I've never seen him before.

I was clicking around youtube the other day and Mat Armstrong and TGE released a video at the same time.

Mat Armstrong had 14k views after an hour and TGE had 940.

TGE's brand is spiralling downwards out of control. A clear difficulty in telling the truth (his holiday and lack of observing C-19 rules) and a general tone of bitterness towards others who are more successful (JWW) and a strongly negative attitude towards anyone who has a different point of view to him. At least he thinks he is correct!

Will he be the next SOL?

Getting to the top is one thing, but holding it there is much harder. Makes you realise how hard people like Shmee and JWW work to stay there.

I like their stuff too. Clearly doing OK for themselves and enjoying their motors.

Just watched Matt Armstrongs latest video where he wraps the R8. I like that he doesn't go for obvious colours or obvious cars (e.g. Maserati). Seemed a bit premature to wrap it before sorting wheels and what looks like quite a smoky engine on startup (?) but reckon it looks good.

He never appears in any of my suggestions either (this is assuming his channel has TGE in the name) so his audience can't be 'car people' otherwise YT would think I would be interested.

The benefit SOL has is a large back catalogue of content...views on his old content will be providing him with a certain level of income, perhaps he just doesn't put in the effort to create the new videos because the old ones provide him with sufficient to live the lifestyle he does and he'd rather put effort into other ventures?
What other ventures?
Mercedes, Grenade, Piloti shoes...

I believe Tim spends over £1000 a year just to insure his cars! And must be at least £50 month on petrol alone, crazy figures.

I'm not sure it quite works like that? I know there's plenty of car channels out there that I have never watched and they don't come up on my suggestions?

We are so lucky to have all this stuff on Youtube. It is amazing that there are so many people who have capable presenting skills - I say as I listen to a behind the glass podcast, Sam is every bit as good as top TV and radio presenters. And there is material for every viewing taste. I used to watch Top Gear and I had to put up with a comedy programme in order to get a bit of car stuff. Now I can watch car stuff on Youtube and not have to put up with the stupid comedy stuff.

TGE has numerous sources of income. His main use of YT has probably been to drive business to his other brands and his success has been enormous in relation to the amount of time and effort he has put in. He probably puts his time into whatever gives him the best return - whether financial or enjoyment.
What brands as a matter of interest? I've watched a good few of his videos and would not be able to tell you any brand he's involved with bar the fitness company. So his drive to other businesses via YT doesn't seem to hold water.
