I have lived 3 years in Florida, and I assure you that this could be a big hit with liberal green professionals that feel very guilty about big ICEs, but feel that they just need to have a pick-up truck.
wkers using trucks as commuter cars are not green whether it’s ICE or BEV.

My local butcher just mentioned this, said he fancied buying one maybe.

Then I saw this in an email...

https://hum3d.com/3d-models/tesla-cybertruck/?utm_...

Assumed a joke or parody for some reason.

Googled Cybertruck... hmmmm.

Now I'm not some seasoned aerodynamicist, but wouldn't that sharp roof kink generate a tumble of air over the smooth back, generate a lot of drag, and give a pretty high rear-axle lift at speed?

I like the idea of EVs, but this obsession with stupid shapes and huge 'trucks' is completely offsetting any appeal they have for me.

Give me an EV like the NIO EP9.

Throw this st Cybertruck in the bin please!

It's going to have a cd of .3 apparently. It's more aerodynamic than it looks.

I dont believe for a minute that the glass breaking was an accident.

I stand to be corrected but I think the whole thing is a bit of a misdirection. If it ever appears it will be in a watered down form (like all concepts, after all).

I don’t think that the rise of Rivian and the concurrent release of Ford’s first all electric mass market SUV was not unrelated.

The angular form comes from the thick load-bearing steel shell so I’m not sure how could it be watered down without throwing out the entire base concept...

There is a picture circulating online putting the truck in a 1990's computer game type setting. The truck looks ridiculous but maybe this is what the future of cars will look like? I bloody hope not.
Still maybe the gamble will pay off.

Thick and load bearing? Like every monocoque steel chassis ever made on 99% of all modern cars?
