With my other biking highlight thread about what you did this year, I thought with 2020 just around the corner I would ask what are you also looking forward to in 2020.

Again you could be looking at getting your bike licence (Do it)
Major Trackdays, Weekends, Euro etc..
The TT(Do it if you have not already)
Going to any races, WSB, BSB, Moto GP

So what do you have planned?

I have plenty planned for 2020, but the main biky thing for me is in Sept I will be taking 3 weeks with a mate over to the US to ride coast to coast.
3500 miles on a Harley road glide over 16 days( comfy for all day riding and when in the US why not). it's a guided trip and after doing this in 2018 it was an amazing experience.
The trip route

That looks a great trip, enjoy.

As for 2020 I'd just like to get out on the bike more tbh and put more miles in, I've managed a total of 400 miles over 3 separate trips this year,
very poor effort.

The big event of 2020 for me will be riding to Mugello for the MotoGP and as it's the last weekend in May, that means my bike will be sorted early in the biking season and ready to go all summer including, hopefully, a couple of trackdays as I completely failed on that front this year!!

Just more of the same for me...riding almost everyday.

I will have a few nights away in the UK, and probably 1 trip into Europe.

Might even try to sell some bikes... 7 and counting... rolleyes

OP, I done the same coast to coast trip a few years back, it's awesome..I was 4007 miles as I took the time to head north a bit to ride the tail of the dragon road... Hope you have a great time too..

do sort sort of advanced training (Rospa or IAM), maybe take myself away for a night to ride somewhere different, and make myself ride to and from work a different way once a week

To pass my test! Have a flat to buy first, so once that's sorted and the dust has settled, it will be license and first bike time.

But what bike... scratchchin

Plenty of threads to answer your question on this board to help.

Like others, just ride more.
Added a H2 to the collection and when I put it away for the winter after my last as I pulled on the drive the odometer read exactly 1000 miles. That’ll do nicely, run in and ready for next year.
I also purchased a trailer so can now do track days without the stress of getting there and back carrying stuff so also considering whether to add a track bike to the collection or just converting one of my current bikes !!

Would love to do a euro trip like I did years ago but have no friends now like I used to laugh

That looks like a great trip. (Even if it will be on a Hardly-make-it-son!!) Enjoy!

For me, it's more of the same. The biking highlight will be the Old Gits trip to Northern Spain in June. http://www.old-gits.org/thenexttrip.htm

I also want to get my H2 SX remapped so that the neutering Kawasaki have given it above 9000rpm is removed. I won't use more than the 190bhp (at the wheel) it already has very often but it would be nice to know it's actually performing to it's full capability rather than to some artificial limit.

Finally, I really would like to get the time to get my old R100CS back on the road. It's a great bike (for an early 1980's machine) and I love riding it.

In past years I havn't ridden many long-distance trips. Mostly just to work and home again.

This year I had hoped to ride a lot, visit my cousins and ride out with them, go to wales with my father etc etc. Unfortunately it all went out the window when my wife had a miscarriage and suddenly my head wasn't really in the right place for enjoying anything, let alone trying to concentrate on riding for hours at a time.

So next year, with a refreshed bike (lots of winter work to get done) I'll be doing all those things I wanted to do during 2019 in 2020 instead. rides to see family, a trip to wales, I'm planning to go to goodwood, would like to go to cadwell park BSB maybe. Also, find out more about my local area. Nice roads to ride, places to stop for something to eat and stuff.

Just get out and ride more. It's too easy to roll into the car in the morning and it's only a short boring trip to work anyway, hardly worth getting the bike out for but I must do it more. Also hoping to get a new bike soon which will help...maybe.

Simple.

Get back on a bike. After a terrible bike year I need to see if I can still get on one.

Hopefully another US west coast trip in the spring, then finally buy a bike of my own later next year. I keep getting very tempted by the Tigers and R1100R/RTs I see for ~$2000-2500 on Craigslist.

I haven't got much planned for next year yet, apart from the TT. I want to do 3-4 track days though, go watch some racing whenever there is some in the North, and I will get myself on the Honda Adventure course so I can be a little less hopeless next time I take the Africa Twin on green lanes!

In addition to some more UK rallies, six of us are hiring Street Glides and doing a two week, San Francisco-Mammoth Lake - Las Vegas-Palm Springs-San Diego-LA-San Francisco round trip in August.

Cannot wait......
