Drive one , they’re a better car to drive than you think.
Not as good as a porsche macan.
All IMHO, but a mate has a Macan S and the V6 petrol really sounds like, well you'd rather not be able to hear it at all. Which is what the new LR 4-pot engines are reasonably good at.

I like how they're now using the Gillette approach to naming conventions.

The Range Rover Velar Fusion Powerglide Stealth Extreme.
Not quite Gillette, possibly another range of consumer products:

I agree but the rear is more cramped, how much is a Macan with similar spec?

But an iPace is even better at quiet engines and the one I'd pick.

Absolutely hateful cars. I think they look like a boat, and not in a good way.

I take your point but a car like this is not about sporty dynamics. It's a freaking 2 tonne SUV. Besides, the Porsche rides much harder and is not as refined or luxurious feeling over your typical UK road, and the interior in my view is also a downgrade generally to what the Velar provides standard, albeit we know that Audi does the best in this department but those are as dull as dishwater.

'I own the road' syndrome. Sufferers can also be seen in white Audi S-Line TDIs.

Velar is a bit odd looking. The front looks like a Chinese knock off of a Ranger Rover, or something they'd create as a cartoon in the 'Cars' kids movies.

How much are those Alfa SUV's? I hate these form factors, but if I had to have one, I think for similar money (?) that'd be the one I'd go for.

I didn't actually realise these were sold with such a relatively pathetic engine until now biggrin

The Stelvio would be a competitor for this car.

The engine is perfectly adequate for most people these days that prefer more MPG, than more MPH,
and manufacturers have to reduce their average CO2 emissions across the range by 2021, and so engines are getting smaller but more efficient.

I am not a fan of the all black look though, especially black wheels.

Personally I would love a Velar one day, I think they look great. But, certainly not in all black - only ever had one black car and never again, its dirty five minutes after washing it. One in Corris Grey or similar would be perfect. I have my fun cars for when I want something that will handle well, this would be a perfect family runaround. One day.

Never driven one to be honest , my brother bought a Velar and it’s a nice drive , I ended up with a RRS, which I prefer to the Velar.

All imho.
