My wife had one for a long time. She loved it. I liked the noise but didn't actually rate driving it so much.

They do seem to divide opinion somewhat in that respect.

Rare cars on the road let alone a 1 of 176 GT4, which gets the extra 20bhp while holding on to the lower road tax. However doesn't take alot to tune the earlier engine to a similar figure. Of the 3 engines that came in the UK 350z, the early DE had the most lb-ft. Had my 350z on track 5 times and it's a very capable circuit car.

The naturally aspirated 6 cylinder, RWD and 6sp manual gearbox is a dying combination now sadly. The seating position is bang on and very much overlooked. As time passes with more and more cars being AWD, PPF exhaust, with double clutch gearboxes, the 350z 1500kg gets lighter and lighter.

Subjectively so but I think the Z33 looks good too.

Ownership**

Pros

- RWD goodness

- Great driving position and view of the road due to the low scuttle panel *le mans racer influenced.

- better seats than the same year 911

- 3.5lt giving spades of torque in any gear at any revs.

- Glorious noise from the VQ

- nicely weighted analogue steering and feel

- very stiff chassis, not alot of body roll

- reliability

- servicing and repair costs are very reasonable being a Nissan

- FANTASTIC owners club community

Cons

- low nose promotes stone chips

- heavy clutch pedal can be tiresome for city driving

- rust is a things to check for however not uncommon for alot of cars of this age

- windscreen suffers from stone chips due to its 993 style rake

- OE radio connectivity *to be expected for a 2003 released vehicle

- interior plastics that you regularly come into contact with are of a poor finish from factory and scratch/chip easily *easy fix to remove, sand and paint
