Not sure how I missed this video in my GR trawl of youtube previously (seems the video was uploaded in February) but this guy hoons a pre-production model around. Looks an absolute riot.

No indeed. Will be interesting to watch tuning companies and more devil may care owners find the limits of the stock platform over the next 12 months.

With regards to press coverage of the car, how soon do we think we'll see anything published?

Will the press have got their hands on a car before the dealer demos arrive? Are they waiting just as we are for them to land along with the press cars? Is there an embargo on the car?
I can't verify this as it was from a European member of a FB group. They said press embargo until 10th November.

I cannot say whether it is related, but one guy on the UK FB page said that he was given an ETA for his car for 16th October. But when it arrived he was contacted by his dealer saying TGB instructed no customer cars to be released before 10th November.

My dealer is imminently expecting their demo to arrive any day. I'm hoping for a test drive later this week. No punters have driven the car in the UK yet. It is possible that this embargo may apply to that as well. Should know by the end of the week.

The lack of info from me dealer is starting to wind me up. I'm going to call them again today to press for more concrete info regarding a demo. If there are not getting a car in the next few weeks like others are then I'm going to move my order to someone who is getting one. Is anyone else in the NW that can recommend another dealer. Obvious options are:

RRG (Bolton or Salford)
HW Moon (Wigan)

Thanks Lauren.

My test drive is booked for the 31st. I guess we’ll see if that changes.

Perhaps they want the “organic” general public impressions to start trickling out before press articles start appearing.

Hi all. I have a black standard car built and left the factory, looking to change to circuit pack but don’t want to wait until March. Anyone want to swap orders if they have a circuit pack or thinking of cancelling and I cancel mine. Ideally white or black. PM me if able to help out.

Feels like I’ve probably made the right choice on the pearl white then. The Corolla red didn’t do it for me. Like the new Ford performance blue it’s a subdued colour ??.
If it's anything like the pearl white on my Crown you're going to love it, code on mine is 062.

I had to change my test drive date from this Friday 23rd October to the 13th November because of the 'Press Embargo'. From what I understand my actual car is with the demonstrator and they're due in the dealership yesterday.

Just spoke to my dealer, he's confirmed there's a registration embargo on the cars until the 10th, so no test drives or customer deliveries until then.

Why would they do this?

No idea

Hope he’s wrong

I’d encourage you all to verify with your dealers.

Called my dealer today. He confirmed the official release date is November 15th. They are supposed to keep the cars stored even if they arrive before that date. Mine will probably arrive a bit later anyway and it's been almost a year since the first news about the car arrived. Having to wait now a bit less than a month isn't really a big deal.

I'm in Germany by the way.

Maybe they found a quality control issue that needs to be rectified before delivers commence?

That would make sense.

Either that or they're worried the early reviews aren't going to be favourable.

Nothing to stop a dealer putting trade plates on and taking one for a spin.

Just be happy that we even get this car this year. The previous release target was spring 2021 or did you all already forget that?
