Still got the Hachiroku?
I sold that three years ago now. Lovely car, but it just wasn't getting any real use. When I worked out I was driving it around 100 miles a year, it didn't make sense to keep it. However I'd I'd realised it would have doubled in value in a couple of years, I may well have done! I've still got my GT86 though.

Probably ETC card device holder (Japanese toll system box).Looks like our cars have landed in New Zealand, and in a small twist of fate, they were delivered on the same Ship that delivered my Evo 9MR that it is set to replace. Hopefully a good omen!

I am a Japanese but now I live in Germany. I ordered my GR Yaris high performance packet on March and it is now in Belgium. My GR Yaris will come in December. I have read owners manual in Japanese, English and German. I noticed several differences.
1. SRS airbag cancel switch
In Japanese edition there is no SRS airbag manual on-off switch. Child seat is always recommended to put on rear passenger seats. There is also no indicator of SRS airbag cancel switch between seat heater switch, 2 USB-A plug are there.
2. Seats
In Europe front seats with red stitch are equipped, but in Japan they are only for 1st edition. 1st edition(emotional color seats, marble or standard carbon roof, mat black aero parts and signature of Morizo) is already sold out. Front seats of standard edition is black and black stitch.
4. Strut Bar
I am not sure but I saw the leaflet from German Toyota that Strut Bar equipped for European edition. In Japan, it is an option of GR Parts.
3. Rear fog light, heated door mirrors and "Kanreichi- Shiyou"
In Japan rear fog light and heated door mirrors are optional. In Japanese version, there are an option called " Kanreichi-Shiyou". Kanreichi means cold and snowy area, Shiyou means version. In north area in Japan (especially Hokkaido, and also Tohoku area), the temperature is sometimes around minus 10 - 20 degrees Celcius and we have more than 6m snow in a year (Hokkaido). Some manufactures (Toyota, Nissan, Daihatsu and Mitsubishi) prepare "Kanreichi-Shiyo" for that areas. Typically "Kanreichi-Shiyo" contains bigger battery, stronger alternator, wiper de-icer, heated door mirror, and so on. Other Japanese manufactures (Honda, Subaru, Matsuda and Suzuki) do not have "Kanreichi-Shiyou" because standard version is adjusted also for cold and snowy area. In Hokkaido, almost manufacturers sell Kanreichi-Shiyou as standard. "Kanreichi-Shiyou" for RZ High Performance contains heated door mirrors, PTC (positive temperature coefficient) heater. For RZ , you can chose IC spray or wiper de-icer in addition. It is because you can not chose IC spray and wiper de-icer at the same time. For RC, it contains no heated door mirrors but you can chose IC spray or de-icer.
5. RC 17 inch or 18 inch edition
RC edition is only in Japan. You can chose 17 inch or 18 inch, but if you chose 17 inch, minimum turning radius is 6.0m (standard 5.3m). It is due to a difference of the steering knuckle. 18 inch edition is recommended for gymkhana use.
If you have some questions about Japanese edition of GR Yaris or some Youtube in Japanese, I think I can help you although my English is very poor.

Another thing I saw pointed out in one youtube video is that there small grills above the driver and passengers head for "sound enhancement". I haven't seen any reference to it anywhere else. You can see it above the drivers head in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UNAVTURB9I That video isn't the one where it's pointed out - I can't find the original video which mentioned it. It could be the microphone for the Multimedia unit, for telephony and voice control?
Do you know the name of the ship on which the cars are coming?

I'm in New Zealand mate.Do you know the name of the ship on which the cars are coming?
Trans Future 6 is the ships name. I have a picture of my Evo parked next to it somewhere.
The Japanese owners page confirmed from multiple sources that the overhead speakers are exclusively used for active noise cancelling, NOT for piping engine noise into the cabin.

I am in Australia. That ship swings by here on its way to NZ. The timing might explain some sightings of GR's at Port Kembla and Melbourne.Trans Future 6 is the ships name. I have a picture of my Evo parked next to it somewhere.

Regarding those noise cancelling speakers, are they speakers or microphones? I noticed that the RS (the 1.5, CVT FWD one) doesn't have them.

Probably best you go read the Japanese FB owners group. They said its only a feature on the HP car over there.Regarding those noise cancelling speakers, are they speakers or microphones? I noticed that the RS (the 1.5, CVT FWD one) doesn't have them.
It dropped em off at Aussie before coming to New Zealand.
Its been confirmed that we've had all our 20 cars delivered as of this weekend.
