Someone parked next to me

I get this all the time. I've always assumed that some people find it easier to park with another car to help them align to a space, rather than the white lines on the ground.
This for me, no reverse cam, so knowing if I'm too far forwards or backwards is easier if there's another car.I don't go out of my way to park next to someone, but if there is someone nearby, I will.
The OP makes a good point. I too seek out the furthest corner of the supermarket car park, preferably a space with a kerb on one side and well away from the Mum and brats spaces. I do this to try and protect my chariot from those who don't give a fk, those with no talent in the skills of parking and those who push shopping trolleys between cars with gay abandon. There is also the benefit of the exercise gained in walking a bit which seems to escape those who abandon their means of transport as close as bloody possible to the shop door with scant regard for yellow lines and disabled spaces. However, the OP is correct in that as sure as eggs are eggs when you come back to your vehicle there will be a bloody builders transit van parked in the space next to it or even worse a pie key tipper van. Does it make me angry, yes it does but then most people piss me off on the best of days.

I always park out of the way in a car park, there are hundreds of empty spaces and I park where no one else parks. Yesterday I was in tescos, it was early and empty and mostly every space was empty, I come out and someone has parked next to me.
I can’t tell you how angry I was, does anyone else hate when people do this?
To make matters worse I watched them getting out of their car and they were leaning their Zimmer frame against my car, they could have just gone in a disabled bay! I’ve looked and checked their Zimmer frame never left any damage and I’ve found a small dent, could this have been caused by their Zimmer frame?
I never had a go at them although I easily could have, but some people are just a joke.

You'd think everyone would know that parking spaces operate on the urinal rules - don't use one next to someone else unless there's absolutely no choice, and certainly don't make physical contact of any form.
I don't understand why someone needs to park RIGHT BESIDE you in an empty carpark, even leaving one space and using their eyes to line up would be better.
Stevensdrs LOL always the case with me a bloody builders van! I remember walking out to the car once and a kid waking with mother was swinging his bags whilst they were walking, to the point that his bags hit against my car, the mother couldn’t care less I even unlocked the car I front of them, did I get an apology? Did I fk! What could I say though it was a young lad, he doesn’t know any better. People just don’t care. I remember years ago when I had a motorbike I parked and popped into shop, I kid you not I come out side to find a some old rusty shed less then a forearms Length away, I mean how on earth did they get out? - through the sunroof lol was so close I physically couldn’t even get on the bike I had to push it forwards. That’s just 2 cases of many

As a shed driver, parking next to a pride and joy at the back of the car park is great fun. Polo is said to be the sport of Kings, well parking a shed next to a lone nice car is the sport of shedding.
Obviously meticulous care has to be taken not to cause any harm, but it is even funnier if said gleaming pride and joy has been parked badly and too close to the white line and you park your shed perfectly but create a very narrow gap.
On rare occasions you can be lucky enough to witness their return to said pride and joy and watch them get all huffy and puffy.
Some bloke at an office years ago started parking in the far corner of the car park, car always on its own, and he reached work really early.Obviously meticulous care has to be taken not to cause any harm, but it is even funnier if said gleaming pride and joy has been parked badly and too close to the white line and you park your shed perfectly but create a very narrow gap.

I started parking next to him...just to do his head in. It was great fun, but more so when he decided to change his parking spot, and I followed him!
Couldn't resist, it was a st Skoda ( when Skodas were st) covered in spoilers etc

Chris Harris has rather a nice little rant on this topic on Instagram, where someone has parked an absolute heap next to his gleaming yellow Porsche in an otherwise empty car park.

I proudly park my car in 2 spaces, no fks given! People are careless and drive about in rentals what do they care.
Pah, amateur! If you try harder you'll soon master the art of taking 4 spaces like any truly tttish tradesmen can. And none of this 'down the deserted end of the carpark' rubbish either - sling the rusty Iveco outside the doors. Bonus points are still available if you can use the parent and child / disabled spaces while doing so.Non story! Complaining about another car parked next to yours on his allocated space on a public car park?
Grow up... don’t like it, don’t park on a public car park! Nothing to be angry about. Their behaviour is odd to you as your behaviour is odd to them.
I get annoyed walking in London and having to negotiate people that are slower or at just in my path, yes makes me really angry! Really?
I too like to keep my cars pristine but came to the conclusion that the only 99% way is to not drive them and keeping them bubble wrapped in the living room.
Seriously yes your taking all the efforts and that’s cool but you can’t be angry as you have to share the road with other users with different skills and concerns about their vehicles. On a public place it’s a risk you have to accept.

It's called common courtesy. If there's an empty street and you go to a cashpoint and queue, you don't stand 2 inches from the person in front of you using the machine do you? You space out a bit. Likewise, with an empty train carriage, it's considered rude and an invasion of personal space to sit right next to someone. Same with car parks.Grow up... don’t like it, don’t park on a public car park! Nothing to be angry about. Their behaviour is odd to you as your behaviour is odd to them.
