Seems a little strange that manufacturers are still investing into diesel technology but I guess there must still be a market for it.

Always liked, but never owned, the GTD. I get it, but why would you choose one over a GTi?

Some company car schemes still only offer diesel options for reps doing 40k+ miles a year.

Some current cars have a red strip that runs the width of the back of the car - that was bad enough, this is another level bad!

Can't believe people still buy VW's after what's happened in the past, especially diesels.

People will always be blinded by fashion and marketing though.

Can't see end of diesels until infrastructure in place for electric cars 15 years from now will soon come around there's no chance we will b ready.

Suspect diesels are never more than a budget away from being all but worthless. Maybe not March 11 but they will be taxed off the road in the end.

It’ll be phased over a number of years. There’s no way the government is going to swipe aggressively at 40% of the electorate. Plus the poorest are often the ones least able to switch.

Of the 31.5 million cars licensed in Great Britain at the end of 2018, 18.5 million were petrol powered, 12.4 million were diesel powered and 0.62 million alternatively fuelled

And don't forget light commercial vehicles -- what's the percentage there? Over 90%? I doubt any European economy can allow itself a drastic ban on diesels for a long long time. The people doing the actual work everyone needs are using these things...
