Seems a little strange that manufacturers are still investing into diesel technology but I guess there must still be a market for it.
Always liked, but never owned, the GTD. I get it, but why would you choose one over a GTi?

BIK on diesels is so prohibitive

Can't see end of diesels until infrastructure in place for electric cars 15 years from now will soon come around there's no chance we will b ready.
Suspect diesels are never more than a budget away from being all but worthless. Maybe not March 11 but they will be taxed off the road in the end.Helicopter123 said:

It’ll be phased over a number of years. There’s no way the government is going to swipe aggressively at 40% of the electorate. Plus the poorest are often the ones least able to switch.

And don't forget light commercial vehicles -- what's the percentage there? Over 90%? I doubt any European economy can allow itself a drastic ban on diesels for a long long time. The people doing the actual work everyone needs are using these things...Of the 31.5 million cars licensed in Great Britain at the end of 2018, 18.5 million were petrol powered, 12.4 million were diesel powered and 0.62 million alternatively fuelled
