Plus in 2 years when they have saved up the thing or equivalent will likely cost more than the £2400 it cost 2 years ago, so it might be cheaper to have it now in the long run.
That is a fair point too. I bought a carbon front splitter for mine a few years back I think for about £290. I broke it a year ago and to buy the same thing from the same place is now the thick end of £800

OP is too busy splashing out on aftermarket parts for his Celica to reply... all paid for up front from his lavish bank account of course laugh

Funny you should say that.. I’ve literally just had a mint WRC celica st205 gt4 dropped off at my brand new works unit . I had been looking for a low mileage example for some time .

Or more than likely it will be 60% of the cost and you won’t want it and will have £2.4k in the bank.

Learning to resist the urge to buy things immediately is a key life skill.
No, by then you’ll be earning more and your expectations will have risen and you’ll put 2.4k down and finance the rest of a £5k upgrade

You prove my point nicely. If you’d spaffed the 2.4k you wouldn’t have it to put down on the 5k. Good (better) things come to those who wait.

Patience is a virtue (and we lost our virtue years ago as G’N’F’R sang, also some years ago)
