If it is an entry level Morgan it doesn't need a lot of power. The current 4/4 only has 110bhp. Next up is the Plus 4 with 154bhp.
Morgans aren't about power, it is open top cruising. They even say on their website smiles per mile.
No point in arguing that a 300bhp engine is too close to the current Plus 6 as they will not be using it if the current line up is anything to go by.
With respect, I disagree. Having spent the last few years with the SpeedMog guys & gals, Morgans can demonstrate quite a turn of speed if driven with determination.

I'm with the 150bhp is enough crowd! A 300bhp turbo just seems to much for a 4/+4 morgan and I'd agree that Mazda's sky active four pot would put out the right numbers-the 1.5 and 2.0 from the MX5 seems bang on.

I think it will have the same placement and gearbox-options as the F56 Cooper S All 4, 192hp and the choice between DCT 8 or six-speed manual. The new "basic" version of the Cupra (SZ) also uses this engine, and I do not expect a Morgan 4 cylinder to offer more power than a Supra.

I think it's only in the Mini where the engine is offered with a manual gearbox (?) and only in the S All 4 where they use the same DCT 8 as in the Plus 6. It would be stupid for such a small manufacturer to also have the DCT 7 in stock (as used in the regular Cooper S).

Using the top ranging engine with +300bhp, and being lighter than the Plus 6, will make it almost as fast. I do not know if they will use exactly the same chassis as in the Plus 6, but my guess is that only the bodyworks will change...
Will they offer two so similar cars? I believe not...

If it will be offered with a hardtop I'll buy one.

Shame that Morgan do not use the JLR Ingenium 4 and 6 pots. Short delivery from Wolverhampton too!
