Firstly, kudos to the OP for the thread title!
Secondly, I miss obscure badging that denotes a technical feature of a car:
This morning on my commute I spotted a Fiat Brava with a "6 Speed" badge on the back and it brought back a whole load of memories of my excitement of moving from a 4 speed gearbox to a 5 speed; then on to thinking about how drivers nowadays don't need to worry about using a choke or the joys of non-powered steering. The difference between my current car and my first car is just staggering and that's only over the course of 25 years or so.Secondly, I miss obscure badging that denotes a technical feature of a car:

Jaguar is the worst, there’s not enough room on the boot lid really so it just looks messy

That almost indicates that the designers aren't sure that people would know what car it was; contrast that to the original XJ6 where the only Jaguar badge was the small badge on the front grille, Lyons' view being that everybody would know it was a Jaguar.

I hadn't heard of a Mini 1275 E but now know it was a short production run in S Africa.
Of course, some cars also used to have a separate 'automatic' badge on the boot, others (MK 2 Jag) had a small disc badge badge on the rear bumper to warn the following driver that the car had disc brakes, although you'd need to get fairly close to read it!

Whenever I see baking line this, it makes me think Vauxhall

Do certain dealers still stick their brand on the back of cars these days (On the actual bodywork, not the back window).
I seem to remember Mangoletsi was a particular culprit.
The Kia dealer I used to work for still does it. Company logo on the tailgate and both front wings. I also notice Vindis group do it last time I looked. I kind of expect it on a Korean hatchback but when you see an R8 with Vindis written on the boot lid, it seems rather tackyI seem to remember Mangoletsi was a particular culprit.

That's right on my list of bad dealer behaviour! You're right Vindis is a major culprit. Second Best said:
I didn't realise extended badged were a problem, they've been around on loads of cars. I remember the first time I saw a Subaru in the late 90s as a kid, that was the first time I clocked the wide-spaced badge. I've had two Imprezas and they've both had the recognisable spaced badge on the back.
Literally the first thing I did when I got my Impreza wagon and my FSTI was to remove the S U B A R U letters off the tail gates. I couldn't take the FORESTER STI letters that they would have left behind holes.... I quite like letter spacing.
But frankly I never gave it a thought before this thread.
