It's a Hyundai Coupe. The bonnet scoop is extra, but I think even the rear spoiler is standard

Isn't that standard? Most of them that I've seen look like that. Often tagging along in 'American' car clubs, along with Chrysler 300's.

Still got a valid MOT, so someone must appreciate it.

Lots have added ‘features’. Used to see quite a lot at club meets, rid runs etc - they seemed to have quite a following back in the day.

This one’s boasting an oval back window, modified rear lights, additional chrome trim to side and rear, spare wheel carrier and chromed ‘smoothie’ rims.

Some are a bit more radical smile

I've seen one with fake wood panelling down the sides, like a 1950s station wagon.

I thought about doing that to a Subaru Justy at one stage. Just for a laugh. Maybe the guy who did the Chrysler was thinking the same thing?

I see this often at the builder´s market, and built it is,
spot the eyes on rearview mirrors and the ladies on the front bumper.

PT Cruiser owners in the UK seem to be an odd bunch as they all look like this. I followed on at the end of last summer on the M1 with wire wheels, whitewalls and a LOT of stick on chrome stuff. To be fair, its amazing how much aftermarket stick on tat you can buy for a ugly duckling of a car that was only sold here for a short time.

I think one owner went on to buy an MG ZS which had similar tat splattered all over it, like chrome side vents and all sorts of tasteless gash from Temu or similar.

Certainly tastelessly modified, but it looks to have been done rather well if you actually want something like that!

I only ever see them modified like that, every single one.

In the mid noughties a workmate bought one. Horrible thing to drive according to her, unreliable and gutless. Trim routinely fell off, upholstery wore badly and, after numerous repair bills, she got rid of it at a something of a loss.

Not the best pic as taken from a dash cam video and zoomed in.

Somebody has drilled 4x exhausts into the bumper, 2 either side of the number plate.

Worst bit is, the black smoke was coming from real single exhaust underneath the car.

There's a guy running around our area in the same model, but his has 4 (tiny) oval pipes in a row under the plate.

It does look as though only two are active though.
