Coronavirus = empty roads

Was talking to a friend who rides bikes about this. One the one hand, who-hoo clear roads for a ride.
On the other, this is REALLY not a time to have an RTA and need urgent care.
I took the time to decipher that post and it was worth it. On the other, this is REALLY not a time to have an RTA and need urgent care.
No, it isn’t the bloody time to call upon the intensive care unit to save sorry asses who have run out of talent while ‘enjoying’ empty roads.

Popped out today, round the M25 from junction 7 to 10 and back. On the journey back there were literally 3 vehicles ahead of me. Amazingly they all stuck to lane one!!! A miracle has happened.
I did exactly the same around midday today, it took me just over an hour The M25 wasn't completely dead, but the braindead are still about in their droves, breathing through their mouths and looking like they don't have a flying clue of.. well, anything.
I'm a bit torn to be honest, I can finally ride my bike, it's a nice day and I genuinely don't think there'd be much harm covid-wise in a little down some country lanes then back home. But if I have an off, I don't want to be taking up NHS resources when they can ill afford it.
I'll probably stay home. Maybe move some of my stuff out of my old garage into my new one.

Stupid question, potentially, but are there after tonight’s announcement, what would be the Governments view on going out for a drive? Are we allowed? It’s a bit of a grey area... I’m guessing we shouldn’t, but...
It's not a grey area, they have specifically said for work, shopping or emergencies only. 95JO said:

In theory, if you were driving because you were doing one of the limited things we are allowed to do outside (obviously not exercising!), then you are allowed to drive. If not doing one of these things, I guess not. As to how that is to be enforced is anyone’s guess! However, if you think about it, the new rules don’t make much sense. Garages are allowed to stay open, but taking your car to a garage does not strictly fall under one of the permitted excursions from home. So are you breaking the rules or not? If you are, what will all the mechanics be doing? Drinking tea?

Getting your car fixed would fall under essential as all transport is.However, if you think about it, the new rules don’t make much sense. Drive the Noble to work tomorrow then, lovely day hopefully.
