Angry much? The heated/cooled seat temperature controls are in fact on the dials next to the gearstick. I believe it's just the zone selection that is on the screen, like a good many other cars. HTH.
I think sir prefers his defender with switches from an old Austin hatchback.

It's a decent-looking car but every time I look at it I just immediately think "Discovery".

Great car isn’t cheap shocker!

I love it, not something I’ve any use for but hope it does well.

So they've built a Kia Soul?

https://www.kia.com/uk/new-cars/all-new-soul-ev/

However about 4 times as much money and more than likely not built nearly as well.

What a joke.

Oh, and was this REALLY necessary:

Most of us would get a slapped wrist for a stunt like that.

Please use your sense of self importance to explain why?

Can I be controversial and say I love it, am not surprised by the pricing and have a deposit down on the 90, waiting for the hybrid drive-train which I guess will be 9 months away now.

Yes it will end up being £80k.

But I don't want a Range Rover (too big and I have a Tesla S for motorways anyhow).

I don't like the new Discovery (stupid number plate, terrible finishes) and too big.

The 110 Defender is larger than a Range Rover so that's out.

I plan to have it with every toy inside but steel wheels and plain outside.

Will be used for a bit of commuting to the station, lugging crap around and then going off-road for fun at weekends.

What's not to like?

Great article too.

Because maybe you'd have something more interesting to say, either you're being flippant to make up for your lack of personality or you need your eyes testing.

I think this car pretty much sums up Land Rovers challenges.

They make 4x4's and that's it ( I appreciate they are part of JLR ). No one else occupies such a small niche. It means they are very limited in what they can launch. It's a bit like Maclaren. We seem to end up with lots of cars which actually seem minor variations on the same theme and just end up cannibalising sales from another one of their models.

Yes, this is the slightly more rugged one, and the Velar is slightly more stylish, and the RR slightly more luxurious but they are all priced the same with similiar drivetrains and I think most people are first going be thinking "Do I want a BMW, Merc or LR etc" and then deciding which one....

Not sure this is going to make a huge difference to their overall sales...

They will sell every one they can make, every town and city has enough people in the UK (Never mind globally) for whom, the money isnt an issue, certainly by the number of > 50k cars you see.

I think the slightly less posh (but still obviously expensive) vibe will sell it, as posh looking SUVs are everywhere, I see quite a few old LandRovers round here, with bull bars, lights, funky alloys and all that, they are still very pricey and involve driving something that is just hard work, these new LR's can be decked out like that but have all mod cons and not make you grit your teeth all the time.

They are available to lease at £600 or so a month upwards, a big chunk of cash each month but if you have two decent salaries coming in its easy enough, and one way or another having any car has a cost, and not everyone wants to be bothered running a shed if they dont have to.

Great article and stunning pictures well done PH.

Have said it before and will gladly say it again, new Defender will sell like buns fresh from the oven. I shall be looking to buy one as a future family car when the time comes. Personally, I don't like RR Sport, new Discovery 5 is a mess of a design and I would buy a new Disco 4 if I could so Defender it is and I like the level of customisation on offer. I wish JLR well.

The engine is simple to work on, ultra reliable, economical, and lightweight. Granted, not the most powerful powerplant but you're hardly buying it for drag races!

Proper = I am familiar, comfortable with it and have some affinity/history with it.

Neither are exactly stunners, but then they are utility vehicles.

You are right about my eyes and personality though. Lucky for you, yours shines through.

It looks like a larger kia soul.

There's too much 'tech' in it, which given JLR's history, is not a good thing.

Its too expensive.

It'll help toyota sell 1000's of the super reliable landcruisers.

So now i've fed the troll, can you try and look at these threads as discussion, so feel free to add a combination of words thats not just trying to insult a single individual.

I'm the troll? You're making daft comparisons to cars it looks absolute nothing like and i'm the troll?

A 2016 Defender 110 Adventure was £43K, this starts out at a little above that and his a huge improvement on interior and comfort alone.

As for the Landcruiser, well the 200 series is no longer sold in Europe and the one that is isn't really a rival.

Feel free to add a combination of original words that somehow goes to making an objective observation and not some tired old rubbish that's been trotted out before. It was boring and pathetic before and it still is now.

I'm always angry about anything on a touchscreen. Because all touchscreens are st. What's wrong with anger? If it's on dials then good.
