Anybody won one of those car lotteries?
Discussion
I keep trying these car comps, 7 days performance and such, after 3 years of entering at least 4 a week without winning sod all i had to give up, especially when i saw how much I'd spent, i could've bought something like a lambo or range rover or similar with how much i spent lol. So it shows yea the odds are good but i absolutely guarantee i can't win lol

I can see that it could be very tempting to enter quite a few comps a week ('reasonable odds') so for me I'll now only enter if it's something I actually would want to keep so (perversely I guess) no lambos/BMW X-whatever/Audi Q-whatever, but a Peugeot RCZ (for example) or a 240Z (there was one up a few months ago) would be a definite entryETA - I hate you!!! Just seen this comp...

I've always been very wary of these types of sites although I did used to dabble on DCG as it seemed as legit as you could possibly get.
When you think about it they must be making a killing so why they would risk being dodgy just doesn't make sense.
That being said I haven't entered a draw since a lad I know (Who owns his own software/engineer company) won there. The very next day the website was down for a load of upgrades.
It's obviously nothing but its clearly stuck in my subconscious as i haven't entered since.

I've now won 2 watches, some furniture and half a car through a joint venture with my brother.
I have however since these spent FAR too much so I'm winding back my spending and going cold turkey for a while.
How many tickets did you buy to gain a realistic chance of winning tho, are you still up or breaking even ?I have however since these spent FAR too much so I'm winding back my spending and going cold turkey for a while.

Watch #1 I had 20x 99p out of 6000 =1/300Furniture had 3x£2.20 out of 499 = 1/166
Watch #2 I had 2x 3.99 out of 699 = 1/350
Car we had 12 tickets each at 99p, 24/13000 ISH so 1/540 roughly
I reckon I have spent 3k but I don't dare add it up, I think that's about right though and it's far more than I would like to have staked I got carried away.
I sold the furniture and the second watch, the deal with my bro was whoever's ticket wins keeps the car but gives the other a £4k consolation prize, so I'm definitely up and have a nice watch so I'm happy.
Definitely reigning it in for a while though...

What I don't understand about these raffles is that a lot of them have an option in the T&Cs to apply in writing, free of charge. What's up with that?

Bought an entry to BOTB once for a bit of a laugh!
And amazingly enough I didn't win.
I had to buy the entry before I found out it was basically a "Spot the Ball" competition.
I may be cynical, but I can't help thinking that by the time all the entry fees have been collected the "prize" has already been funded!
IMO these sort of things seem like a scam - just save the entry fees until you can buy what you want.
Yeah, that’s right just save up your 20 quids until you can buy a £100k car.And amazingly enough I didn't win.

Also the lottery, don’t know why people play. Why don’t they save up their £2 until they have £4million instead?

They have to so they aren't classed as a lottery. Timing isn't always in your favour and it's a bit of effort but I do some postal ones too and they're usually accepted.https://dreamcargiveaways.co.uk/postal-entry-route...

would be classed as a lottery and need a licence.https://dreamcargiveaways.co.uk/postal-entry-route...
