Anybody won one of those car lotteries?
Discussion
Indeed, instant win open to a whole new level of abuse. Allocating a credit win to known heavy spenders etc. Not suggesting for a second anyone is doing that, but there is zero transparency or oversight and huge scope for preying on those already in deep.
Fascinating that a couple of smaller sites went in with instant wins and now the bigger sites started to follow, presumably when it was clear no regulators were going to give a damn.

I agree these instant win comps don't seem right.
There is alot of people in deep with these comps reading some facebook comments I agree its appealing to some hard gamblers who may have addiction issues. I'd like to think that these comp companies make enough money not to be under hand. Surly someone somewhere must have a addiction problem with comps to the point where they are seeking help, its only a matter of time the gaming comission will have to act.
I went on trust pilot to read some reviews on comp companies and this one stuck out regarding the instant wins comments:

7days absolutely rinsing it with instant wins. Current one has 400k tickets. Comments on their FB page from people who have gambled £100s and won nothing, but will try again later in the week. Most of the prizes are just site credit so nothing of actual value. I can’t believe these sites can run these competitions effectively unregulated.
Stopped buying on there because of these instant wins. Wont touch sites that run them with a barge pole, I hope DCG never go down this route.joropug said:
I totally agree - I think they could really be hit hard with the instant wins.
Here is something interesting. Random number generators aren’t actually random. Although think it’s safe to assume that the big sites are using them honestly and as such the generation is random and the winner is fair.
“Random number generators are typically software, pseudo random number generators. Their outputs are not truly random numbers. Instead they rely on algorithms to mimic the selection of a value to approximate true randomness.”
On the instant win side of things though, the winning numbers are already determined and you’re relying on the completely private ticket allocation as being completely random.
I doubt it will be, even if there is no intent of wrong doing.
Completely agree, I have no idea why most of these sites don't use a true RNG like those on random.org.Here is something interesting. Random number generators aren’t actually random. Maybe because the masses seem to 'trust' Google?

Pristine Comps (despite annoying me with their clickbait text) have an Impreza P1 for £20 a ticket.
Big money, but with 2hrs to go they’ve only sold just over a thousand tickets, bloody good odds…
That's awfully tempting to have a punt but I honestly find it mind blowing that a company like this is allowed to let someone potentially spend £4,000 in one hit on one comp.Big money, but with 2hrs to go they’ve only sold just over a thousand tickets, bloody good odds…

They had a Corolla fastback about a week ago, had only sold a few hundred with about an hour to go. I forgot to watch it but they must have sold 2-3k tickets in the last hour - just seemed strange so I'm watching this now !Big money, but with 2hrs to go they’ve only sold just over a thousand tickets, bloody good odds…
I absolutely believe lesser sites straight lie about how many tickets have sold for this exact reason. In fact a lesser site I was once checking out following a Facebook ad said they had sold just 50% of tickets on Facebook - their website said 30%. One of them was a lie.
I’m surprised they haven’t sold more tickets for this, I mean the description sells it so well….

Aspire last night, brand new VW T6.1 camper , winner single ticket holder, first time he'd purchased .... Hope for all who regularly get nothing.
Jammy bast.....
I used to watch the Aspire draws. The number of first time players , or certainly 2 weeks in who won big prizes was unbelievable. Or they knew someone who had won and bought a ticket ..Jammy bast.....
The site credit draws where usually repeat winners and often the big bike winners wouldn't have a bike licence .
.
I know it's random but it was a similar pattern most weeks. The guys presenting always joke about having a bike licence when they ring the winner because it's that common.
