I loved my Aero, but whilst it was cleaner than that one on top it was rotten underneath where the rear suspension mounts so definitely would want to get right under one if I were buying again. Seems decent value though.
My only experience is a boss’s car when they were new. He enjoyed driving it quite briskly around London and on one occasion bounced someone who had cut in on Embankment with the very generous front bumper which resulted in no damage but a lot of laughter. From us. Not the bumpee.I think they’ve aged well.
E39 523i in red for £900, MOT history looks very good indeed. The interior looks clean, could do with some paint and removing the rear spoiler

Good morning, chaps (and any quietly-lurking chapesses).
I had some sobering news over the weekend - my cousin was killed in a car accident (fire) last week.
We don't yet know what happened, but it's a timely reminder to respect your car's inherent danger, and to keep safe.
Here's wishing everyone years of comfy bargemiles to come.
Terrible, condolences to the whole family.I had some sobering news over the weekend - my cousin was killed in a car accident (fire) last week.

After 9 months of ownership I've discovered a new button today and also that my car has voice recognition for telephone, sat nav and some other functions. Useless to me though, not speaking Japanese.
I had the big atm service last week, engine oil & air filters this week, and four cabin filters.
Yellow SD1 is just like the brand spanker a neighbour had in 78.

Northbrook, terrible news and condolences to all concerned.
Re the SD1, a former boss had a very early one brand new just after launch, and our aged bookkeeper / secretary (who now would be well over 100 years old) was outraged when he adorned the Brazil Brown (?) flanks with some gold pinstripes (“But it’s a Rover, how could he?!).

Northbrook - sorry to hear about your loss as well as the circumstances.

With regards to the upcoming changes to VED, a Fiesta ST will go from costing £210 a year to tax... to £530.
Concerns are that our little corner of smoker barges might become a little more popular as people realise that for the cost of the deposit, they could be in a delicious barge that costs the same to tax, and they can use 'the monthly' to run and maintain it.
I think people are going to struggle to come to terms with forking out over £1500 in tax over a typical lease length for a hottish hatchback (for example) that they don't plan on owning.

I'm sure I'll get told off for going 'off topic' (as conversations in the real world never deviate from one subject!), but the smarter ones among us will soon begin to realise that every aspect of the cost of living is going to go up, and every aspect of the standard of our living is going to go down.--

Not long now until the waves begin to hit the shore.
