Nice kit, but I added an almost identical Pioneer double din to replace the fried PCM in my 996, for a total of around £500 including new cubby where the nav module sat, fully fitted by a local ICE specialist.

Do you know If an update will be available for the previous generation of the Porsche Classic Communication Management. I miss Apple CarPlay
Did you find this out? I bought one from Porsche in Jan which sucks as I've missed out on Apple play too.

Does anyone know if the single DIN unit is an update of the "Porsche Classic Radio Navigation System" that's been around since 2015? They look identical, but maybe the internals got a refresh?
I bought it in Jan (the first one) and I'm gutted if I can't update. Did you find out?

Did you manage to find out?

Hi, I want to install the PCCM single din unit to my 996 not the plus version is this possible? Porsche Classic West London can’t even answer the question so I’m wondering if anyone here can.
Thanks

I have deleted the centre console in my 996 and want to install the PCCM single din is this possible? Porsche Classic cannot tell me and if I buy it and it doesn’t fit I cannot return it.

Fully agree,I always thought the 996 interior was nice and much nicer looking than the 997.1. I especially like the 996 without the double din unit and with the Centre console delete - looks as good as can be for a modern car imo

You can fit either; the updated PCR or the PCCM+ to 9x6 up to 2004MY will go in fine.

Sorry to drag up this thread, but I've stumbled across it whilst searching for info about the newer classic radio. I've also got the old one, which isn't bad, but the sat nav functionality is pretty crap, and I wonder whether to just bite the bullet and get the new one.

Did you make a similar decision in the end?

Will integrate with the fuel monitoring, climate control and GPS antenna of the original PCM?
