If we are going for individual cases (as opposed to the interior style in general), then this has to be up there.

Audi A6 Allroad, a 4.2 no less, and a Japanese Import. White exterior except for bright red around where the normally "black" all road bits would be. Interior matches, yielding red steering wheel, seats, gear knob etc.

Someone paid a fortune for their car to look exactly like this!

Car for sale here if anyone is interested - only £14,940

Perfect family car to go with their McLaren F1.

I'm sure they must have had an important reason ( e.g. it matches the gimp suit)

One of those specs that fits in fine in Japan (where it's from) but who really wants an Allroad in that colour scheme in the UK. if you look at the market for the average allroad buyer I'm fairly sure they want a nice light green to go with their wellies. Even a colour like silver is a bit of a bold statement on one of these.

Rover 200 BRM - too expensive and questionable aesthetics but a great drive. The regular 200 was such a nimble handler and the K series Rover engines were an absolute peach. Pity Rover priced them for the sector above - the 200 failed to sell in any numbers and paved with road to the gallows for the company.

Someone said, “Ya like-a da bling?” to which Papa Mio responded “I do,I do,I do.”

The Vauxhall/Opel Astra H!

YES!

That's perhaps the most fking horrible, dismal, miserable, unimaginative, depressingly ste interior of any car in the past 20 years. Utterly hateful in every possible way: crap aesthetics, crap ergonomics, crap materials, crap finish, crap quality. The design brief must have read: "Grey, square, and above all, CHEAP".

However...

Anything current by MB looks like Granny Doris' cluttered living room. It's the antiTesla school of design.

I had an A180 hire car (the car was pretty crap and I was glad to drive my Astra again but that's for a different thread) that had that interior but without the AMG signs and no electric seats and it was a manual so had a gear stick in the middle.

I actually thought the interior worked well if a bit blingy, all the important information was in front of you, it was all easy to use and logical and most importantly to me it actually had physical climate control buttons.

Having to go through some sort of touch screen to put the A/C on is stupid, and as such I nominate almost any Citroen or Peugeot as worst interior for this reason. I do believe the latest Golf has also got rid of physical A/C controls.
This is the C3, as you can see not physical A/C controls.

Tesla interiors are like a council flat that’s been robbed but the drug addicts couldn’t get the Lazy Boy and the 60 inch TV out the door. Mercs are a cross between insane cat lady wins lottery and mentalist with 80s Grundig fettish.

They are so grim that the only sane reasoning is that the folk at Mercedes absolutely despise minicab drivers and having to look at that tripe endlessly on 18 hour shifts is their way of torturing them. Proper Traveller Kitch MAX.

At least if you're sitting inside it means you don't have to look at the outside

It was aimed at the North American market, so yes.

I knew it wouldn't take long before someone used that word to describe it, Minimalist is not the same thing as underdesigned with little actual thought put in. The screen looks exactly like it was attached as an afterthought using a generic bracket from Halfords, and the plastics have a finish in them that shouts 'recycled household waste'.

Never been in a Tesla but my god that is awful.

As unimaginative as their exteriors, will age terribly and is an ergonomic disaster bordering on dangerous.
Hear this a lot from people who haven't experienced it.

Been driving one for 6+ months now. Wasn't sure how I'd feel about it beforehand as such a departure from what I was used to but can confirm it's neither an ergonomic disaster or dangerous. Works brilliantly well and makes previous BMW/Mercedes/Audi's we had feel very cluttered and old fashioned. The quality is definitely not up there with the Germans but again not as bad as some would have you believe.

Not really fussed at how well it ages personally as don't expect to keep it past 2-3 years but it's so simple I can't imagine it'll be that bad?

In my humble opinion, the accolade of worst car interior has to go to the lada samara,im ashamed to admit it,i owned one in late 80,s absolutly grim inside, nasty brown plastic dash ,seats and carpets, had more rattles than mothercare! One of the worst cars to ever see the light of day,i still have nightmares that i own it now.

My Dad had one of those when I passed my test and I have a certain affection for it as it was my first taste of independent transport. The switches came off in your hand but it was the height of luxury compared to a Riva.

Rolling back a few pages to the ‘minimalist’ Tesla iPad controlled interior, does it work with with Siri/Alexa style commands?

That would seem to the better approach with a modern tech car
