Another one that I use frequently is motorcheck.ie, from when I was in the Irish Republic.

I just use the DVLA MOT checker. Or if a plate isn't on it, one of the tyre price comparison ones as they don't update as often.

How / where can I find out if a plate was ever issued though ?
