Saw a really early plate today, think on a Merc, spaced correctly as well.

BB 22 on a Range Rover in Leeds this morning.
H 4 on a Ferrari 458 too, although I've seen it before.
Two very early plates here:
BB 22 issued by Newcastle upon Tyne CBC in Dec.1903
H 4 issued by Middlesex CC, also in Dec. 1903
Good info, didn't realise they were both so early.
Saw 44 S on an X3 in Leeds yesterday too.
44 S not an original issue though, Sold for £9,978 all inc. in September 2000.

A new spot. Kindalaugh

I came across this recently, it's a picture from the 1960's, and I have yet to ascertain if it's a genuine Ford Cortina GT Ogle (1 of 2), but it did wear the M 7 plate (that now sits on a sorn TR7 in someones collection) and appears to be photographed in Londons Berkeley Squareyes

Issued by Nairn County Council. Mid to late 1962.
One of the slowest issues pre suffix. Nairn only issued AS1-4097 from 1903 until starting C suffix in January 1965. Only SJ & SV were slower. You will see higher numbers being used by DVLA to re-register pre-30s vehicles.
Slow post-suffix too - they issued AAS-C, AAS-D, AAS-E, AAS-F and AAS-G plates before finally moving on!
