Just bought this great plate, and am wondering what car to put it on
What’s the plate?
R8, you know like that Audi supercar with the V10
Oh cool. Wonder which car that would go with?
I was thinking perhaps a Rolls Royce Dawn
Yes, good idea.

T 8 on a run of the mill Alfa Romeo in Fleet.

Driven by a sweet old lady too!
Used to be a regular customer of mine at the pub I ran just outside Fleet.

Dark green 147?
That's the one, I've seen it on a driveway in Fleet, can't remember where abouts it lives though. Was nice to see it out and about.

Maybe the likes of a Richard Branson doesn't fancy an Audi......rolleyes Or the Audi owner can't afford to spend £600K + on a plate...! yes

Long time no see on this one, owned by Arran Lee Bailey (property developer) with an insane car collection including a ferrari monza. Also owns P 81, 69 X and 51 N.
I'm sure that used to be on an early R8, owned by chap who owns newreg.

Just to be a typical PH pedant, that’s a GT63S not a CLS

Today in Gullane, East Lothian. The owner told me, unsurprisingly, that her husband was a butcher.

It was, and that's exactly who used to own it.

Plate changed hands last year

Thanks.
I remember seeing it, years ago when R8's were at the low £30k mark. Was first time I saw a plate worth comfortably more than the car.

Last year in Gullane I saw an ice cream van that read 991 CE

Hey I guess people on this thread might know. If a regular normal style number plate is on a now unused car, could you buy the car and transfer the number plate to a different car you want it on? Eg suppose it was E39 bmw and you had that model so it would be cool to have it on your own car. Can you? Assuming your own car is newer than the one it’s coming off.

Not strictly true.

You can remove a plate from a car that has a SORN in place for a certain period of time
