Anyone able to recommend a refurbishment place around the Axminster area? I need to tidy up wheels on my TT QS. Three are fairly straight forward but one has a bit of a gouge out of it. Filler? Welding?
Thanks.

A bit out of your way, but South West Wheel Repair in Marsh Barton, Exeter are worth a call. I've used them lots of times and the work is always good.

Found them via Google. Oddly, there is another company, South West Alloys, almost next door. Must be a story there, somewhere.

I'll get on the phone.

And another - they’ve done 3 sets for me now, all of them perfect. Great price also.

Thanks for all replies. I spoke to both the Exeter outfits, and I'm sure either would have done an excellent job. However, for convenience, and after having asked a local contact, I ended up using Wheelshine in Yeovil.

Business owner a really nice guy. He took time out to demo his CNC lathe for diamond cutting of rims. Decent bit of kit. Seemed to be busy, plenty of very expensive wheels 'work in progress'.

Very happy with the results and a good all-round experience. Drove over on a Saturday morning, left the car with him, and cycled back to Lyme Regis, picked the car up the following Tuesday afternoon - £360 all in, same price as the Exeter companies..
