If you think about the people who actually buy these things, it doesnt really matter that its ugly. Jamie Vardy has one.

Its still prettier than the Urus, Cullinan, X4, X6, GLC and GLE coupes, Q8 and Cayenne coupe (yes I know not all the aforementioned are direct competitors to the Bentayga).

It does look a bit odd with the new taillamps, but I didn't love the old ones either. Either way, its a lot prettier than the Cullinan, which looks like teratoma by comparison

The question is, are Bentley actually capable of designing anything that’s remotely good looking?

Funnily enough, I had a V12 Bentayga from new when they were released. I couldn't stand it. Sold it at a ludicrous loss and bought the car I wish I'd bought in the first place (and that I still have)...a FFRR.

This update won't be tempting me back to the Bentayga either.
What was so bad about it? Harry Metcalf seemed to rate it.

How does the FFRR compare? What makes you prefer the FFRR over the Bentayga?

yes the new Conti gives me such feelings of want. Wonderful design, proportions just bob on, probably my favourite thing in that market right now. Can’t afford one so don’t want to drive one in case it doesn’t match up to the looks biggrin

They're beautiful to drive.

Just a little dull.

The new Conti looks stunning, particularly in that blue.

Took me a bit of time for it to grow on me, (I was a big fan of the previous gen) but seeing them every day for the last 3 years I think they look properly stunning, particularly from the angle I posted. I've not been lucky enough to go out in one but they seem to get pretty unanimous praise from the press, even Clarkson loves it.

I hate the world's current obsession with SUVs, but I really think the Bentaygas are something special! You've gotta love a 2.6 ton car that's capable of sitting at 190mph, while having what can only be described as one of the most amazing interiors in the world. I know the styling can be divisive, and the new one has still got to grow on me a bit, but just having a sit in one it's easy to see why they've sold so well, that interior really is something.

I'm biased as I work there, but if I had a lottery win I'd walk in to work tomorrow and order one. Just no idea how I'd spec it as the options and colour combos are enormous, way too much choice if you're as indecisive as me hehe

Blue Sequin I believe. One of my favourites! I'm always amazed by how many are optioned in simple black or white when there are so many amazing colours available.

I think overall I found it to be neither one thing nor another. It was quick for what it is but not that quick, and it's not really an SUV in terms of the driving position. Too low and I found the cabin to be rather claustrophobic and the interior a bit dated even upon release. You don't get the ride height or the slab sided glass everywhere experience you do in a FFRR. There's also no getting around the looks which never grew on me in the year or so I had it.

In summary it was rather like a jacked-up Conti GT. Not necessarily a bad thing but it left me feeling I either wanted an actual Conti GT for the speed (and also subjectively better looking, much quicker and a far better interior) or a FFRR for the motorway wafts. And if you really want a performance SUV, the Urus (which I also had) is on a different planet to the Bentayga.
