It wasn't obvious to me that the image is a video and there didn't seem to be any sound?

I really am slowly losing the will to live now, how depressing. You might expect such a thing from little scrotes having a laugh with their mates, but these are just two toxic dog walkers, look like decent people if you saw them walking in the street.

Because they just are.

I had an argument with one on a MTB trail on army land. He demanded to know why I was breaking the MOD bylaws by riding on the training area. I pointed to the "33 EOD Cycling Team" jersey I was wearing. And politely told him that if he didn't like me riding there, he should contact my CO. Who, through the chain of command, had let it be know that he'd really like for the regiment to win the RE Games MTB competition coming up that summer.

Which was when he launched into the "doesn't matter what permission you have, you shouldn't be riding on the public footpath" and started swearing a lot. He swore even more when it was pointed out that it wasn't even on the map, let alone a public footpath. "How do you know that?" he demanded, with venom. "Because I, along with some colleagues, cut the damned trail out of the woodland with hand tools and hard work myself several years ago. Without MTBers it simply wouldn't exist".

Also watched some riders try to persuade two older ladies not to walk their dogs up the downhill MTB trail in Swinley Forest. These are marked trails, one way only, and they have plenty of "No Entry" signs and directional arrows at track junctions. But the women couldn't be dissuaded, and were heard yelling at MTBers to "slow down!" and "mind my bloody dog you morons!"

I've no patience at all with bikers when they're riding inconsiderately, or on footpaths when they shouldn't be. But when trails are dedicated for bikes, or only exist because MTBers dedicate time and effort to maintaining them, dog walkers are a bloody liability. I've seen dog walkers trying to walk along MTB race tracks DURING race events. Proper, organised race events where the organisers have paid the MOD for exclusive use of land, and where warning notices telling other users to find an alternative venue for JUST ONE BLOODY DAY have been posted on all entry points for a fortnight. But even then they try to slow the racers down, instead of just getting the funk off the CLEAR AND OBVIOUS race lap route. Sometimes you just can't educate stupid.

I used to swear that if I found the wkspangle who used to throw logs off timber stacks onto a local bike trail, I'd tear off their arms and make them eat 'em (the arms AND the logs! wink ). But I found it far more amusing to tear down the trail hopping the logs as a challenge when the bloke I suspected was behind the sabotage was nearby. It was good fun, as the logs were pretty small and easy to clear. So much fun I rode it both ways twice. The old duffer was fuming, especially when I stacked a few together to make more challenging obstacles.

Someone recently (couple of weeks ago) put piano wire across one of the trails local to me. We often have to contend with logs etc put across but thats a whole different level. Someone rode into it but Injuries were relatively minor thank fook. Could have been a lot worse. Police were useless as youd expect.. Take care out there and look after yourselves.

Mad ! I always stand aside with the dog when a mtb approaches on shared paths , cyclists always respectfully slow down in return. Wouldn’t even think of walking on the specific mtb trails at kinnoull in Perth. Have to wonder at some people really.

What exactly were they supposed to do? confused

It's a piece of wire (so no fingerprints) strung in the middle of nowhere (so no witnesses). Not exactly a lot to go on is there?

Did the Daily Mail pay you/Tom for the video? Nice work, those people will be embarrassed now. Bound to be someone who knows them who sees this.

Pay who? None of the protagonists came over well in that.

Notice they mention he stopped his..Gasp! £1800 bike to confront them.

Surprised to see no mention of the value of his house..

Still pleased to see some publicity which may hopefully stop at least one moron from doing this in future.
