Man thats one ugly car and why do all electric cars have that drab sparse interior with that silly ipad screen to control heaters, stereo and just about everything.
They're just an accident waiting to happen, its' like operating a large phone while you're driving. Give me knobs and buttons anyday.
What`s your idea of a good looking car?

It needs charging. I'll wait for the fuel cell version.

tbh it has a bit of a kona look about it
Looks bang average, just like my Skoda.

Other than for navigation (at a push) I'm not sure why a screen that large is even worth having?

I'm not a fan of the Model 3's looks/shape. The Polestar looks great and would be my choice if I was in the market for a £50k EV.

I just linked you a report that's 9 years old.

Do you think that there's been a massive evaporation of garages? Better call Mulder and Scully.
I've not read the link, but a lot of homes have, sacrilegiously, had garages converted to rooms.
Having lived in a few new builds you often have parking and a small garage but not at your house so no power. Moving house few years back off st parking etc was what I looked for so I could get power to an EV one day.

Becuase thats your only interface with the entire cars heating/audio/etc etc etc..... If it were a 5" screen it would be a total ball ache to use.

To my eyes it seems, rather strangely really, to have been designed in China, not Sweden, and is not the better to look at for it.

Off topic but why are most EV’s so staggeringly boring to look at? The Tesla is poor, but this one is really very odd indeed.

this has to be a platform for Lotus to use surely?
Lotus and Volvo produce different cars but the ev side and much of the platform can be shared.

5" I agree is too small and is the other extreme. Unless you're watching TV on it it doesn't need to be as big as it is here - just requires a decent menu system.
Anyway, buttons > iPad slab

you should see the ones in tesla's.

this actually has some buttons on the steering wheel, which is a big bonus compared to most EV's.

Also, i'm expecting to be spending some time watching netflix while i'm waiting for it to charge.....

Of course it matters. Besides, you do realise that most hydrogen comes from steam reformation of natural gas, right? It's basically a fossil fuel.

Never ceases to amaze me how people bang on about "Hyrdrogen - the miracle clean fuel". Errrm, where are you going to that Hydrogen from????

Same problem with ethanol in petrol and biomass in power stations. Lack - - of - - joined - - up - - thinking. Or perhaps just a lack of thinking.

Amazing flex. You've gone from no garages to I have loads of garages and none of them have power.

Can we just agree that as the initial threshold that prompted you to post was 50% of people have garages - the report says 80% - that there are enough people with driveways that can charge their cars up?

Every EV I've test driven / owned has buttons on the steering wheel which answer calls, swap radio stations, set cruise control etc.

Here we go again the same old stuff. Tesla cars are the quickest and this makes them really good....every now and then it might. Nobody will be able to charge anything other than a Tesla as they are the only ones with a good network.....not really an issue as most people don’t go very far really and could charge at home. Most people don’t have a driveway or ability to charge at home......then catch the bus and stop poncing about in £50k cars. Tesla’s are ugly and low quality interiors....probably true but adopters are happy to put up with this reduction in interior quality because tax breaks and it’s a clever gadget.

If the mainstream manufacturers could sort out their public charging network in the same way OPEC used to work then they could offer business users the support they need.

I think other than Model X the Tesla range is hideous but it has provided an answer to the needs of many in business. Hopefully the new EVs under £30k will service the mass consumer similarly.
