In a slightly pissed and bored state I decided a cheeky bid on this E34 was a good idea since I figured if it wasn't actually rust free and didn't actually have a 2.8 then I could just walk away and if it turned out to be true and of the smaller details could be sorted. He has decided that £1600 was not enough, despite him choosing the starting price and not to put a reserve on it. Probably for the best.

If you're wondering almost any age of BMW whether it's 4-pot or 6, count the intake manifold runners.

This one is definitely a 6-pot.

Yes, but the 520i was a 6 pot back then smile

Shirley the connoisseur's choice in E34s for sale this week is this minty ex-Jersey 525tds?

A 520 is a 6 pot too. My concern is that an M52b28 should have the oil cap towards the front of the engine, but I think the engine will have to be a bit of a hybrid to fit properly anyway so I guess it could have the M50s valve cover.

That's very tidy and a great colour, but I am not sure I would want to be piloting one of those with 'power' coming from a 140BHP victorian-era diesel.

Oof. Why don't they make cars like that anymore?

Is it 5-series day today? No-one told me...

Here’s a slightly crusty 750 instead.

Not sure whether I think it’s a winner, but it does have style 32, and almost any car can be forgiven for that.

So there's been a problem with the new radiator! They took the old radiator off, and after unpacking the new radiator it was evident the new radiator is damaged! New one ordered from Lexus and arriving Friday. They said they could put it back together but I said just keep the car and I should get it back Friday. I don't need it tomorrow or Friday really and I'm just pleased it went through the MOT without a single advisory.

It's lovely, but I couldn't live with the diesel.

Oooft, don't envy them having to mess about with well-worn and rusty pipes all day.

How is Miss Jones by the way? Good Welsh name that.

Anything ex-channel islands has spent it's life living by the salty seaside and generally under 30mph, and very rarely actually looked after all once more than 5 years old... hehe
