Best smoker barges 1-5 large [Vol 17]
Discussion
This looks to be a tidy XJR; a smidge over top thread with a promising history and vendor.

It’s had a new fuel tank and it’s pixels are present, get it! Looks great for it’s age and 177k miles. Nice colour

Looks like a nice thing to me. Fuel tank done, new brakes and MOT. Sort the rust on rear wings. Pre-Covid it would have been cheaper, but what a nice place to sit and be seen making progress.728 days later said:

Is being in Tier 3 a good enough reason to buy a spare car?
I've had to recommence my lockdown drinking....

Gents, popping to have a look at this barge in a bit:
Will report back if it's any good (or not, as is more likely...)
Using my untrained eye seemed like a nice example (no code reader I'm afraid). Obligatory sagging headliner "Got a bloke who'll sort it for £200", worn Pirellis on the front and some new cheap ste at the back. Needs a valet. Motorola car phone present "What's that daddy?". Will report back if it's any good (or not, as is more likely...)
Previous owner a JEC member, and it had been to a show or two. Actual plate is GJ54NYR which shows a reasonable MOT history, it'll come with a new one.
So some thinking to do...

Interesting, unusual engine, currently low price, and in the same city as me. Added to the Ebay watch list, but not in much seriousness.Don't get me wrong, this is the same money as the newer legend now, which has really got me thinking, but this old 'un looks lovely!!

Not within thread, but, this is definitely the best place to ask about these...
This is a long way away from me, but I like it, what do I need to look out for in terms of BORK?

The biggest issue, aside from usual barge expenditure, is the occasional need for a steering rack which is around £5000 as I understand it.
Most other bits are complex barge related consumables; air suspension, cooling system etc.
Generally very reliable but keeping them in fine fettle will be more than a Honda Jazz but less than a comparable German offering!

In Lexus-shock news, I had to replace a tail light today. I thought they were supposed to be reliable and that bulb only lasted 18 years. That's three bulbs I've had to do now in three years. Bloody crock of st.
I have large and somewhat clumsy hands, but even I managed to change it without fking it up, which is something of an achievement.
Apart from a holey exhaust and a bonging message telling me that the aircon filter needs replacing, the old girl runs perfectly.
