Aside from the manual gearbox I rather like that.
And the price. Surely that's twice the money.
Yes, very dear.

That really does look nice. Very top money though but I think it may be worth it.

Speaking of Derin has anyone been in touch recently? I do hope he’s doing ok, missed around these parts.
+1 about Derin
Not 100% but I saw someone posting on a BMW topic on Instagram in the past couple of weeks with a ‘handle’ starting with ‘derin’. Could be coincidence
ETA - pretty sure they posted a link to the bmwclassics website which he owns, so maybe not a coincidence

Thread's on 100% pass rate today then smile
Great feeling isn't it. Am I the only one who is sad enough to return to the MOT checker page a few days after, still pinching myself with joy that the bargain barge has passed another MOT with minimal fettling required?
Not at all. One got through with no advisories after some suspensions arms were done, and one had an advisory of “n/s headlamp dim” I’ll take both as a result!
I don't like advisories, they upset me, hence the change. I'm now in for about £2400 on the C70, which is still way less than its peers smile

I like it too, but agree that it's optimistically priced, even in these strange times.

Have we had this lovely old V12 yet? Just out of a 10 year lay up (well there's a 10 year MOT gap and the seller says that it's just out of storage). Needs a set of original wheels and we're off. Rear compartment phone as well.

I want that. A lot. And I am expecting a windfall today.......

Random pointless game... judge

If you could be gifted one of the cars below, which one would you pick and why?

(The rule being that you'd be given the car but it would have to be your daily driver for at least a year)

S500

LS460

XJR

W140 S500

740

First we can drop the ones which aren't Mercedes because they are not Mercedes. This leaves us with a choice of two.

If the W140 were a saloon it would be a no brainer, but it being a coupe means I would walk past it and choose the W221 (please). This has the added bonus that I haven't had one yet and enough time has passed since I had a W140 that I wouldn't notice the slightly lower rent trim in the newer car.

I feel I should love it... but I just cannot see past the chrome arches. I think I'd rather drive about fully nude than have them on.

XJR, please and thank you. It's the only cool one, IMO.

The C140 is on the verge, but not quite there. The 7 has a good few more years to go, yet. The S and the LS are lovely, but as cool as fire.

XJR for sure. All of them would be more desirable if they weren't silver though.

I think the 460 because the most interesting, and I could pretend it was an SC430

As my lease X5 let me down again last week, I started looking at what I might get as an interim... (it's behaving now so I don't need to worry...yet)

Strangely drawn to these R500's for no reason I can discern.

For your enjoyment:

As per a poster on another thread, "it's not a looker, is it?"........

As far as people carriers that are shaped like woodlice go, I really like these paperbag

It'd also make a lot of sense for me, as I have 3 kids.
I have 3x big dogs, so would also make sense if the seats fold flat like in the ML's...

I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER CAR.
Worthers on worthers colours = less appealing to the masses = more appealing to bargistas

Definitely marmite & head in paper bag head material.

Probably years of use left in this thing.

Green X308R on the original "penta" wheels for me please, or an X300R on those wheels.

No contest.

Can I have it in any colour other than silver though?

As a BMW man, I'd have to say the XJR - but black would be preferable. If the 7 was a 750, that might have swung it.
